Still more interested in the Nexus because of the screen real estate.... but this is definitely a contender. Looking forward to official announcement!

Battery life will probably be the deciding factor.

with a 4,3 inch screen resolution at a 16:9 aspect ration, this phone should be quite handy, as the HTC Sensation is

32. Joshing4fun posted on 20 Oct 2011, 13:58 6

Plus the nexus is 720p pentile samoled 4.65
This phone is 720p probably S-lcd on 4.3.
While samoled is awesome, this phone's screen should like the iPhones but only man-sized.

52. sumdude posted on 20 Oct 2011, 18:46 1

They used the same outdated GPU in the Galaxy Nexus (Prime), that was in the original Galaxy S & Nexus S. That's just a ridiculous error in the specs. for a device w/ that screen size & resolution, even if it is a SuperDuperSuperSpecial AMOLED Plus++-+÷π+Plus HD screen. Vigor is the better device, especially once, it gets the ICS update in 2012. I'll take a stunning engine over a so-so engine. Take away ICS & this newest Nexus is nothing special, IMO.

53. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 18:49 1

dude that GPU is still one of the best in the game plus since we're talking about an OMAP4460 here it's much higher clocked than that of even the 4430 in the Droid 3 and Droid Bionic. it's fine.

Verizon needs to slow down....the razr isnt gonna sale much because of the nexus please slowwwwwww down cant keep doing this...maybe one top of the line droid every 2 months

4. roldefol posted on 20 Oct 2011, 10:27 8

Nah, I prefer this setup. Release all the goods at once and we all get three great phones to choose from, each with its own selling points. Release them a month apart and we just end up with buyer's remorse.

This season will finally give Verizon the best selection of smartphones in America. It's a good time to be a customer with an upgrade.

10. oldbto posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:07 2

I'm with you on this one. Bought the Charge just months ago and now will have to pay full price for Nexus

12. nastynaps posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:08 4

Yea I've been holding out since July for a phone worthy of my upgrade(thought it was SGS2) and I'm currently rocking an Eris. Big things are on the way in November after having only mediocre choices all this time, it's good to see all the power phones coming out, finally.

15. hotcakes33 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:37 1

I hear ya! I am in the same boat. Can't decide at this point - and after the Eric fiasco I have been dealing with since about 6 months after I got it, I am a little gun-shy about another HTC product.

31. GoodFella posted on 20 Oct 2011, 13:35

Agreed! However, I am curious what AT&T will come out with for the holidays... Mr. De La Vega promised 20 new smartphones this year- Atrix, Inspire, Veer, some Huawai phone, a couple Pantech phones, LG Phoenix, Torch 2 Atrix 2, Infuse, HTC Status, Samsung Galaxy S II, iPhone 4S, and that is all I can think of.

That is about 13 (and I am sure I am missing some), so we will say 15 or so. With that in mind, there are about 5 more that need to be released. So, if AT&T delivers on their promise, AT&T should have a pretty good line-up for the holidays. I am interested to see what's going to happen.

18. Schmao posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:46 1

If they slowed down the situation they would parallel MetroPCS's situation. Metro releases a good mid-range device very infrequently so once one comes out, everyone has it. In this case everyone who wants a good phone, isnt forced to buy the same thing.

36. narley posted on 20 Oct 2011, 14:10 3

Motorola, HTC, and Samsung... do not care how the other phones sell. And VZW has an agreement with all three.

61. Alantef posted on 22 Oct 2011, 16:32

Think about it...whos gonna buy this phone with the razr and nexus out there....this phone comes out 30 days ago its the s**t for 30 days now its gonna be lost with the other two big hitters out there.....

3. willardcw4 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 10:24 4

I think AT&T needs to get some more 'flagship' phones.... limited options if you don't want an iPhone. SGS2 and... uhh... well, that's it?!

27. K1N9J posted on 20 Oct 2011, 12:49 1

ATT also has the atrix and atrix 2 coming out and will get the nexus im sure.... im sure they will get some goo WOS7 phones also.

5. klaw888 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 10:28 2

More choices, the better... Perfect for my upcoming December upgrade. Hope there will be a good comparison when all three phones are out. This will help me to decide which one to get.

6. Snapdude posted on 20 Oct 2011, 10:51 1

verizon has a killer lineup for the holidays, anyone with an upgrade will have their head spin when they see what choices they have. the rezound was hands down one of the best HTC experiences ive had in a while when i played with it a few weeks ago, and beats is where its at! just hope they fix the few minor bugs in the system before launch (nothing major, just something someone as OCD about thier phone like me would pick out)

7. roldefol posted on 20 Oct 2011, 10:55 2

How was it navigating the Rezound? (Some people here have labelled its S3 CPU a lag-beast.)

Totally envious that you've already laid hands on these devices.

8. Snapdude posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:05 2

honestly it lags no worse than evo 3d. the final production version will be polished and ready to kick ass

34. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 14:09 1

i''m thinking the lag is dissipating when there's a processor clocked at 1.5GHz present but that still just puts it right beyong the threshold of being bad and tolerable.

16. hotcakes33 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:41 1

Dude - I have been waiting since July with my Eris to upgrade. Is this HTC worth it? I am a SO tired of my Eris.

19. Snapdude posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:49 1

if you want another HTC, id say yes in a heartbeat

20. kshell1 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:50 1

get the droid razr. its thinner weighs less more than likely. ti omap 4460 beats snapdragon although its clocked lower its better. the droid razrs front cam can record 720p video which rezound cant. the razr is made of out a stainless steel core and kevlar.

21. kshell1 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:50 1

but yes if htc fan and like their products go for it.

24. roldefol posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:59 3

I see HTC and Motorola as polar opposites with Android. HTC is all smooth curves and a friendly UI, Moto is hard lines and no-nonsense (although still bloaty) UI. I'd recommend the Nexus over the Razr to an HTC user.

35. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 14:09 2

dude, yes. go for it if you're an HTC fan. (:

9. android1234 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:05 1

The Galaxy Nexus is gonna out sell the most out of the 3. Even though people who would prefer the RAZR or Rezound would ultimately go for the Nexus because of ICS. I like the RAZR design out of all of them but wouldn't get it because of ICS. But they said the RAZR is supposed to get ICS early next year, but how is that possible when they mentioned that the native screen resolution for ICS is 1280x720?

25. iblackdroid posted on 20 Oct 2011, 12:38 1

Well they also say its optimized for quad core phones does the galaxy nexus have quad core? no but it still look and performs amazingly... i would get out of the razr and rezound the one with better battery life.

11. Snapdude posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:07 1

i know this is off topic: but i would just like say that i wish HTC would use OMAP chips as well as snapdragons.. S3 is nice and the evo 3d proved that, i just think an OMAP would really harness the power of this device to its full potential

13. roldefol posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:14 1

I can only imagine HTC has some sort of long-term contract with Qualcomm. They've been using Qualcomm chips almost exclusively forever. Maybe it shortens their development time when they only have to design around one architecture.

14. Snapdude posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:19

still deeply dissappoints me because even though snapdragons are usually first to the market with ultra high end offerings... competitors tend to out perform once they release their offerings as well. dont get me wrong the s3 is plenty powerful and still hasnt reached full potential, i just think the OMAP would be a wiser choice for certain devices

37. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 14:10 1

it's probably because they have Sense optimized in every nook and corner for use with Qualcomm SoCs.

39. Snapdude posted on 20 Oct 2011, 14:25

still, they could do more with an omap chipset... not to mention the wonders omap would do for htc battery life issues

40. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 14:40 2

it would make HTC a much better phone company in my eyes but it would take them a long time to get as comfortable with OMAPs as they are with Snapdragons but no time like the present eh?

41. Snapdude posted on 20 Oct 2011, 15:05

snapdragons and omaps are fairly similar in the core aspects

46. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 15:45

not similar enough.

42. roldefol posted on 20 Oct 2011, 15:13 2

I'll always view OMAP as Motorola's SOC. Even though they're in other devices, with the exception of the X2 (which I maintain was just to burn off the Tegras they had ordered for the Etna Bionic), all the Moto Droids have been OMAP.

44. Snapdude posted on 20 Oct 2011, 15:24 1

im just excited for the 4470's

48. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 15:47 1

i have a Droid 3 so i'll be looking ahead to the OMAP5 that'll probably be in the Droid 4. (:

47. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 15:46

the X2 was such a mistake and if they wanted to burn off Tegras they still had Photons to produce

55. roldefol posted on 20 Oct 2011, 19:46 1

They must have been under pressure to release a new phone for Verizon. I'd bet the Etna Bionic was planned for May, and when that fell through they had to do something. Or maybe they ordered more Tegras than they knew what to do with, including the Photon.

Either way, I don't believe the X2 was planned. Motorola isn't Apple, they wouldn't use the exact same body and call it a new phone.

56. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 20:07 1

yeah. i agree. they knew the Tegra II wouldn't play nice with LTE so instead of putting out yet another single-core LTE device they decided to put the first dual-core device in the line up therefore separating the high-end line up between LTE handsets and dual-core handsets. it was probably planned as a fall back solution when they started realizing how major the problems were with the Etna however with that said they could've just as easily made up for that with the Droid 3. it sold like hot cakes when it came out, it would've sold even more if there weren't people that already upgraded to the Droid X2. now that i think about it the Droid X2 was kind of like the Droid Bionic and the Droid 3 was kind of like the Droid RAZR. Motorola really needs to get their marketing plans straightened out...

57. roldefol posted on 20 Oct 2011, 20:57

I think the Droid 3 was always planned for release when it was, and it was always planned to use the OMAP 4. They had more time to work on the D3 since the D2 came out late summer 2010 and then refreshed with the Global. People were clamoring for a dual core phone, but the OMAP 4430 wasn't ready yet.

Has the X2 sold well enough to cannibalize D3 sales? Weren't people who wanted a keyboard going to wait for the D3 anyway?

As for marketing, the Bionic is the common factor here. If it hadn't been delayed, there would probably have been no X2, and the Razr would've been released a good 5-6 months afterward. It would have had a reasonable shelf life.

59. Thump3rDX17 posted on 21 Oct 2011, 00:38 1

oh yeah, it totally was.

oh no. i'm sure the Droid 3 has sold way more than the X2. it's sold out online a few times. i got mine with a BOGO and got it and an X2 and the reason i did that was since i was taking advantage of a BOGO they let me use an early upgrade so i just returned the X2 and used that upgrade for the Bionic.

yeah. damn that 2011 CES.

23. droidcandy13475 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 11:58

who was that idiot who bowled the 49th over

26. rockstarlive posted on 20 Oct 2011, 12:45

That was quick, I mentioned that the bottom kyes would be lit red. LOL Its supposed to be Beats Audio also.

28. InspectorGadget80 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 12:53

AT&T NEEDS MORE PHONES. Cause I'm going to upgrade my phone when available. Their lacking on getting phones some reason. and it's ticking me off

29. Tiasalibra1 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 13:09

I've had an upgrade for awhile was going back and forth between Bionic and Thunderbolt .... boy am i glad i waited!! I have been stalking this site and knew these 3 were coming soon ... All 3 phones have so much to offer so i have no idea which one to pick! I would say HTC but after the TBolt fiasco i don't know if I trust them.... might have to base my decision on battery life and go with the RAZR

33. snowgator posted on 20 Oct 2011, 14:02

If this is HTC with Beats, than it gives a selling point that niether the RAZR or the Nexus (still hope they call it the Droid Prime, that is just way more fun) will jump on: selling a high end device to those who use their smartphones for a music player. I think this gives the Rezound a great niche to work from. I also would like to see it priced a tad under those two. Kinda hard to imagine paying the same price for this once they see the difference In screen qualities.

38. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 14:12 1

dude, i remember seeing somebody call that this thing would have red capacitive buttons in another discussion. whoever that was good call man. o:

43. roldefol posted on 20 Oct 2011, 15:18

At one point I thought the Rezound was going to be a slightly reshaped Sensation XE... which also has the red buttons. The Rezound is a much more impressive device though, adding 720p and more RAM.

For Size It comparison though, I've been using the Sensation XE as a stand-in for the Rezound. :)

45. rockstarlive posted on 20 Oct 2011, 15:31

That was me saying that the buttons would be red. But I think that press photo is a fake.

From what I hear, the phone might have a Red Trim surrounding the phone, all black, and A bigger Beats logo on the back.

Thats probably the phone case,

I just get rumors from other sites. Plus I know some people that work at Best Buy Head quarters.

49. RORYREVOLUTION posted on 20 Oct 2011, 17:40

I don't care what anybody says, that back cover and camera looks freaking beast.

50. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Oct 2011, 18:25

that's a case but the actual phone itself looks pretty beast in it's spy shots. o:

51. sumdude posted on 20 Oct 2011, 18:26 3

I see alot of talk about battery life being a factor. What you should be worried about is that the GPU in the Galaxy Nexus is the same outdated graphics chi
