A tweet from HTC's U.K. division (see, others at HTC besides HTC Americas president Jason Mackenzie know how to use Twitter) says that the HTC One has started to receive the OTA update that brings Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5 to the phone, in the region; according to the tweet, if you live in the U.K., you should take your HTC One, and go to Settings > About > Software updates...

If I'm not mistaken, the US models did not receive the Sense 5.5 update, correct?

I don't think so. They should get it with the 4.4 update though, maybe even with the new version of Sense (6.0?) that will be on the new HTC flagship, since HTC did say the 4.4 update would come within 90 days, and they do typically release their flagship early in the year.

Well that's good, at least they're keeping up where they can. I remember the 4.1 release on the S3, took a full year to get it done for the Canadian phones.

How hard is it for these companies to adapt their old software to the new version of Android anyway. As a developer, I know full well that Android is very backwards compatible and so why can't they just release the new version of Android plastered with their old UI and then take their sweet time as usual releasing the "new" version of their own skins and junk. And how hard is it to modularize their addons so the OS and their apks are separate enough to allow this. Just boggles the mind how these companies function (those that still are) with such inefficient methodology.

I updated yesterday and hate the fact that the lockscreen options have been removed. Also hate the new gallery layout. Should have stayed at 4.2.2
