HTC One for Verizon pictured with no carrier logo in front

0. phoneArena 01 Jul 2013, 05:50 posted on

Verizon has a thing about marking the smartphones it launches with its insignia. It is almost always placed on the front side of the device, reminding the user who is providing them with service. And sometimes, the carrier's logo can be slapped in the most awkward of places. However, things are likely to be different when the HTC One finally gets released on Verizon...

Lol! Where would they put it? Maybe the back, but we can't see that portion of the phone.

It seems like thats the only way Verizon will give up trying to brand the front. They wanted to so bad that they forced their way on the Note 2 home button but that looked pretty disgusting to be honest...

I guess they forgot the part where you're constantly seeing Verizon on the lock screen and notifications screen. I guess seeing it multiple times an hour doesn't cut it.

Maybe, but I wonder why they didn't brand the home button of the s4.

Can you please tell us why the logo isn't on the front again? I'm a little hazy on the subject.

I love Verizon but, by the time this thing gets released it will be time for the HTC Two.

Verizon members might as well wait a little longer for the Butterfly S aka DNA 2.

It's an HTC One on steroids and most definitely worth the wait, trust me.

I thought the Butterfly S wasn't confirmed for US release yet.
Besides, both phones are aesthetically different so in the end it comes down to personal preference. I, personally, can't wait to get my hands on the One once it finally arrives

I thought the Butterfly S/DNA 2 was coming soon as well, but I'm not so sure now. There have been a couple of leaks indicating it will come to Sprint instead. Sprint is definitely due for a new EVO, so maybe that'll be it.

Will someone please explain hy people get their panties in a bunch about a stupid little logo? It's a phone. So it says "Verizon" on it somewhere. So what? People getting soooo wrapped up in how pretty their phone is are pathetic. Is it a good size? Can I make calls? Does the browser perform well? Does it have a good screen? Yes! Great! But wait! There's a tiny logo on my phone. Boo hoo!!

I personally don't mind the Verizon logo. What I do mind is all the bloatware Verizon puts on the phone which cannot be removed and takes up space and memory. I tried the Galaxy S4 Adar I returned it because I hated all of the Bloatware which can only be "disabled" and not removed.

I hope the HTC One does not have all the bloatware installed.

Are you kidding? You might as well stop hoping now. It will have all of Verizon's bloatware installed...just like EVERY other phone that comes to Verizon. It's a given.

Fair enough. I should have said Android phone, but almost everyone that comments on a tech website probably already knew that.

That's because all the carriers know that the iPhone is a goldmine for their business so they bend over backwards for Apple.

I think it just gives people something to complain about. At first it was VZW taking away unlimited data, then shared plans and now VZW stamping their brand in a very visible spot on the products they offer. The next thing people will be complaining about of the Voice of LTE phones that won't be compatible with CDMA service. I might even have to drop a negative post when that day comes.

Once the dust settles, the vast majority of us will still be VZW customers.

Does anybody see the date? it says THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 5th. Could be the release date. Other carriers had their images leaked with the dates of release on them.

Hmm. Wouldn't surprise me, at the rate Verizon moves. That would suck for those of us patiently waiting, but would still be within the "later this summer" announcement tweet.

My upgrade is in July so I'm hoping for a sooner release. At this point the One is the only phone that's got my attention. There aren't too many new phones due out by the holiday this year other than iphone and Nokias are there? (aside from phablets of course)

I was hoping for midsummer too, but at the rate Verizon field tests new devices, late summer wouldn't surprise me. There will definitely be a deficit of high-end devices until Fall, when we'll likely see new Droid Razrs, hopefully the LG G2, and maybe - if the 928 continues to sell well - a new Lumia as well. I'm up for upgrade this month too, but I'll wait the extra couple months for something future-proof.
