HTC One battery tests deliver the best web browsing endurance
0. phoneArena 29 Mar 2013, 03:15 posted on
At close to 10 hours, the phone scored the most out of them all in web browsing endurance, including the reigning champs RAZR MAXX and iPhone 5. It also is up there in the top with more than 10 hours of video playback duration, alongside proven marathon runners like the S4 and III, as well as the iPhone 5 and the obligatory RAZR MAXX...

Htc One is seriously soft compared to the Galaxy Note 2 or Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3. Plus go to gsmarena.com and see the real truth regarding the Htc One and other devices.
16. Floorkill22 (Posts: 20; Member since: 24 Mar 2013)
I agree. It's funny how phonearena constantly praises the HTC one even when they won't clearly admit apart from the HTC one's amazing build quality that the galaxy s4 is superior in every other conceivable way and yes, that includes the screen. Gsmarena are clearly not biased in any way and review all their phones appropriately. Gsmarena are basically calling the galaxy s4 the best smart phone around with the best screen even putting it above the HTC ones SLCD 3 screen. Go figure.
19. loyals (Posts: 129; Member since: 10 Nov 2012)
gsmarena praises anything from samsung...ANYTHING !! even if they make it with cheapest plastic available. and samsung fans sees it as unbiased... HTC ONE is truly a amazing device , BETTER THAN ANY SAMSUNG MOBILE ! , it's boring design and UI.
25. Floorkill22 (Posts: 20; Member since: 24 Mar 2013)
All these arguments are pointless. Let the galaxy s4 sales speak for themselves. If people don't like the galaxy s4 based on its build, it's simple don't buy it.

Just change the position of the letter l from your name and it will completely justify u r personality !
From Floorkill22 to Foolrkill22 !!
Sales never speak for which is the Best Phone !!
Sales depend on the Brand Name and the amount of Marketing done by the company !!
51. Floorkill22 (Posts: 20; Member since: 24 Mar 2013)
Another ignorant and stupid comment. Yes brand name and amount of company marketing are two important factors but are not the only ones. You obviously don't come from any type of marketing background to make such an ignorant comment like that. The standard marketing philosophy nowadays is to make a product based on customers needs and wants. All the marketing in the world won't change nothing if a product isn't catered for peoples needs. Get educated pal.

Marketing includes the product, price, promotion and the place (as in availability)
36. kclgphilsbsa (Posts: 762; Member since: 21 Jan 2013)
even gsmarena crtcze the plastic.. dumb!fool!!!
76. synot (Posts: 79; Member since: 14 Sep 2012)
did u see the drop test for htc one ,how the premium aluminium crumbles and the glass shatters ,talk about premium build and quality.bet the s4 pass this test
79. gogowho (Posts: 37; Member since: 12 Mar 2013)
guess what HTC one us not all metal，and edges are covered by plastic, and the production quality can't be solved. lots of owners suffer gaps now. it is not all metal and zerogap.as usual.

"BETTER THAN ANY SAMSUNG MOBILE !"
Mind to explain how? 'coz what I know so far, the only advantages of One over the GSIV is its "premium" feel in hand(but very very poor build quality) and its stereo speakers.
The GSIV has a better CPU/GPU, better camera, better features, better multitasking, better s/w, better support from devs, better ergonomic, better screen(according to GSMArena in-depth test) and I bet it has a better build quality as well.

what 3% better? learn about significant figures.
67. mobilefuture (Posts: 206; Member since: 12 Nov 2011)
So if one of two super awesome phones is better than the other the less better one should not be bought? S4 is awesome and so is the one. Both can run ANY app in the play store so if someone wants a device that actually feels nice what's all the hate about? And to those of you saying S4 is plastic with gimmicky software then your statement is correct but at least you get a removable battery sd card and maybe you'll use the software once in a while, like that s translate. Yeesh everybody be actin like babies supporting their favorite brand/phone.
107. winddroid (Posts: 13; Member since: 13 Oct 2012)
Maybe, just maybe you might be a little biased. If you think the only advantage the One has is the build quality. Dual chambered noise canceling mics, easy set up process from your computer, ability to transfer all content from iTunes backup and wirelessly transfer all content from any Android phone, Zoe with video highlights, always smile, burst mode of 99 pics, customizable app drawer, pocket mode, reflowing text, base model with additional 16gb, audio recording in hdr, stereo front speakers, quick launch apps on lock screen, five stage flash, wireless hdmi with dual screen capabilities, bilingual text prediction, 1080p hdr video recording, wide angle ffc, countdown timer on camera, blinkfeed, 2.5v headphone jack, amplifier in headphone and speakers, lithium polymer battery instead of lithium ion, larger pixels, ois, backup and restore, lyrics to songs your listening to.
112. linneti15 (Posts: 49; Member since: 26 Sep 2012)
some of those aren't even advantages, you're just labelling things the one has the s4 doesn't like a "lithium polymer battery instead of lithium ion", thats not an advantage, the battery is 300mah lower. there are a ton more i can criticize like "countdown timer on camera" but i can't be bothered

Samsung has alot of money and money speaks for them on fake reviews and all this websites online get paid or how you think they still alive? but on the other hand HTC doesn;t have the money and they don;t do fake reviews anyway because there prodocts speak for them self.
35. Floorkill22 (Posts: 20; Member since: 24 Mar 2013)
Fake reviews? Do you even think before you speak or just enjoy talking bulls**t? Tell that to the 50 million people who bought the galaxy s3. The numbers don't lie not to mention the galaxy s3 won the smart phone of the year award last year. The s4 is the obvious choice this year.
57. HouTexan (Posts: 255; Member since: 08 Jan 2012)
lmao! You HTC fan boys have the biggest inferiority complex and say anything that you can pull out of your a.ss, huh?
68. lovenyc8 (Posts: 164; Member since: 13 Mar 2013)
listen man i'm not a fan boy i love samsung and and all other compines i have a samsung note 2 but this year i have to hand it to HTC with making the best phone from all aspects. what bothers me is when i see samsung or apple fan boys that know that this year the HTC is best phone and lie to them self and buy an s4 or iphone 5 which is the same phone whats the point of buying the same phone when you buy new phone because its samething new something diffrent not the same most features and same desgin. even ( pocket now ) give the s3 and s4 the same spot which is the number 3 from the top 5 phones for 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?f
at the end of the day they all android and all winners but i have to go with the truth i hate lying to my self
102. Lboogey6 (Posts: 221; Member since: 31 Jan 2012)
Look im not gonna say the one sucks its obviously a great device but how is it better in every way? everyone keeps saying plastic phones are bad but i don;t see how. lets not forget with out all bias aside the places the one really shines i the speaker and beats audio integration and ..... i guess being different with blinkfeed but i kinda still don't see that being a big deal just because i don't know too many people that really would use it as their homepage. oh Zoe great software choice and innovation. but camera features its been shown s4 has it beat there. i just kinda don't see why we consider the phones crap. Or why you feel the HTC one is the best phone
24. TheBitterTruth (unregistered)
So what? I can charge atleast once a day. Its not a big deal for me.
And hope the next firmware update will fix that issue and will blows away the other plastics!

So where is now user called "drpain" which was crying in every article about bad battery life?!
2. Taters (Posts: 1760; Member since: 28 Jan 2013)
Blinkfeed. I doubt they will ever let you disable their baby.
5. Berzerk000 (Posts: 3270; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
You can't remove, but you can disable all the sources from updating, effectively making it useless. I personally find BlinkFeed useful, I mean even on my GS2 I have a Google Currents widget that takes up a full page.
Though I hope HTC sends out an update to Sense (5.1) that gives you the option to completely remove it, it's just one of those annoyances for some people; like the persistent menu button in apps without them that was in Sense 4, HTC sent out the Sense 4.1 update with the option to make long pressing the back button the menu key function.
26. TheBitterTruth (unregistered)
May be blinkfeed is the battery hunger.
86. xperiaDROID (Posts: 3726; Member since: 08 Mar 2013)
Ok, this is strange.... Why most peoples don't like BlinkFeed? It is a useful feature that keeps you updated. I was hoping that PhoneArena will be on BlinkFeed too.

wow...PA really gone out of the way now... this very phone got the worst standby times among all of its competitors... PA really trying to bash S4 and is now really getting into messy games promoting other phones which are actually not as good as S4
4. darkskoliro (Posts: 736; Member since: 07 May 2012)
Your username says it all.
No need for further explanation.
7. Mr.Alawi (Posts: 14; Member since: 05 Apr 2012)
"promoting other phones which are actually not as good as S4" ?? HTC One is actually good as s4 if not better ... look into all the reviews and see how HTC One got scores from 9.0 - 9.5 / 10 it's actually you that trying to bash HTC one ...
14. doejon (Posts: 282; Member since: 31 Jul 2012)

50. qwerty1234 (Posts: 7; Member since: 28 Mar 2013)
what's the used of charger if you won't charge a 0% battery??
52. terabyteRouser (Posts: 358; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
who carries around batteries? normal people don't and have no desire to.
59. amats69 (Posts: 732; Member since: 12 Nov 2012)
oh really? thats why battery pack is invented i think it is much easier to just plug in your battery pack directly to your device than opening the back cover of the phone and put your spare battery...well opening the cover of the phone may cause some dust to go inside your phone...
75. kclgphilsbsa (Posts: 762; Member since: 21 Jan 2013)
haha amats69 is really funny hahah getting all excuses in d world. . why? do u olweiz have access to power outlets? well if u plug your phone then u cant walk around, hahaha only .1% of people will consder chargng their phone if dey have extrabattry.

95. amats69 (Posts: 732; Member since: 12 Nov 2012)
i think you dont know whats the use of portable battery pack/bank? right? HAHAHAHAHA!
63. CanYouSeeTheLight (Posts: 538; Member since: 05 Jul 2012)
I don't know if you are current with todays technology but the removable battery argument is only valid when it comes the time to replace an old, broken down battery, there are these things called "portable power bank" in case you didn't know that lets you charge any phone on the fly with if you have it and the usb cable with you.
6. Berzerk000 (Posts: 3270; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
That's really weird that the One has bad standby time. The HTC device that I've used actually had very impressive stand by time, and I've heard Aaron from PhoneDog say that the One series of last year had really good standby time as well.
8. tiara6918 (Posts: 1103; Member since: 26 Apr 2012)
I read one of the comments on the article at gsmarena, that standby drainage is a problem to all 4.1.1. stock roms at HTC. Stand by time in ICS was amazing. In JB is rubbish. So it's a software problem, not hardware. And it can be resolved with the next upgrade in kernel.
65. CanYouSeeTheLight (Posts: 538; Member since: 05 Jul 2012)
That is actually true, my One X had bad stand by drainage but it got fixed on the latest update if i remember properly, my One X is capable of losing 2-3% battery during the night. It was losing 8-9% before. (Both stand by battery drains are without killing apps)
23. TheBitterTruth (unregistered)
Dont worry, firmware will fix it
