HTC One X has power management problem says custom ROM developer

0. phoneArena posted on 13 Apr 2012, 21:38

An improperly placed APK has been robbing HTC One X owners of 10% to 20% of the handset's battery life according to a developer of a custom ROM for the device; you can install an unofficial fix that will increase battery life or wait for an HTC update...

XDA should be hired by the manufacturers...

you know its not XDA themselves that come up with these fixes...its people that then simply post their fix on XDA....the people are the ones that should be hired

woops!

ND, at least samsung hires from devs. Rumor has it that after Steve K got hired on that other guys started getting job offers too by various companies, so maybe they are finally catching on to what the "small guys" are capable of.

which is mainly fixing their buggy android overlays.. lol

Isn't this great news?

This seemed to be the biggest gripe about this phone based on most reviews and if you see a 10-20% instant improvement on battery life, it only solidifies its role as the best android phone on the market.

I've always said it, manufacturers need to just build the phone and processor and put stock android. Then unlock the bootloader and let the devs take care of the rest.

I don't have a problem with my One x! In fact, I find the battery life amazing as my Xperia S barely lasts a day, great phone otherwise, and my iP4s is usually at around 15% by the end of the day. On the basis of similar usage, my One x is at 50% at the end of the day and has only been below 20% on one day and that was after hours of playing music and watching movies/music videos!

Will still await the update, if there is one, as this would give me stellar battery life!
