HTC One Max phablet winks from new pictures with possible rear fingerprint scanner

0. phoneArena 13 Sep 2013, 09:40 posted on

A claimed HTC One Max prototype is on the loose again, people, and this time we see it sized up with the HTC One flanking its sides like point guards around Shaq. Not only that, but what is rumored to be a fingerprint scanner on the back is clearly visible, though we don't know whether it will make it in the retail version, and what will its purpose of existence there be other than unlocking the phone, iPhone 5s style...

Not a single post regarding NSA. Tone changed all of a sudden since the manufacturer is not Apple...hahahahah. So funny.

HTC is not American company so it is a bit less likely that NSA will put their hands on it. But you are right, possibility still exist.

They have mine because I was a US Marine. Everyone who works for the government has their prints taken. It's really more common than people think. What is uncommon is how unreliable prints really are, they aren't the forensic evidence always being portrayed on CSI, a wealth of printing is open to interpretation.

It's probably not. Too many people are freaking out over nothing, or at the most, not much. Since 911, security in the US has been at an all time high. I live near Chicago, the only city with more camera's than Chicago is London. 1984's Big Brother is a bit of reality now, unfortunately. But in regards to the NSA getting your fingerprint from Apple's scanner, it's seriously doubtful.

"Too many people are freaking out over nothing..."

Too many blind people who still thinks that it is nothing.

I was leaning towards the Max over the Note 3 .. but if there is no stylus the scale is tipped to the Note 3. Especially after seeing the new features added to the s-pen... Come on HTC dont let Samsung take all the stylus market

According to @evleaks, it will be powered by a Snapdragon S4 Pro. Any newer information on that?

do you think that they are trying to do like samsung 2 quad core processor the one for light application the other for heavy application because in the last report evleaks says that it is snapdragon s4 pro 1.7 only! 1st old processor 2nd it's not LOGICAL!
if it true Im starting to hate HTC I thought i will never say it but it is the truth!

I don't understand the placement of the of the fingerprint scanner on the back, it should be on the front, thats where my thumb will always be. And more importantly if used in conjunction with NFC, it can be used to make quick and secure mobile payments through NFC.

you really think it would be that easy reaching a button placed on the front of a phone this big?

Your thumb cant reach the middle button on a Galaxy Note?

The location it currently in doesn't allow it to be used in the future in conjunction with NFC payments. Which I think is the biggest benefit of something like this, quick and secure mobile payments.
