I love this one, the gold looked thick and hefty. But id rather have the cacitive Buttons to make up that space.

People can have their opinions on the aesthetics of this phone if they want; but I'll say this; it's a design engineering massacre; Another small screen display inside a huge chassie; you have mountainous thick bezels from top to side and the implementations from on-screen software keys are going to eat even more real-estate. There's also memory and battery capacity limitations, due to the construct of the phone.

The only thing they even did remotely right was the loudspeaker placement.

My next phone will be either this or the iphone 6 (if released with a bigger screen as indicated).
I would prefer the HTC, but the drawback for me, is the unibody.
Make no mistake, I think it is gorgeous, but I've heard that it dents easily and that fixing this device is extremely difficult due to this unibody.

I guess I'll wait for the iphone 6 to surface and then come to a final decision.

By the time the iPhone Whatever is announced, this phone will be so outdated there will be much better options to choose from. 7 months is a long time in tech years; because better SoC (CPU/GPU) and camera module implementations get implemented towards the end of the year.

When I look at screenshots like this one of HTC's Blinkfeed I do hope that those who bash WP are reminded of how much similarities Blinkfeed share with Live Tiles visually and implementation, for eg.

quit the hating.

From a hardware perspective this grey version looks more visually appealing than the Gold.

Not hating here, but Blinkfeed tiles looks better than WP tiles.

I disagree, also Live Tiles can be reshape to look countless different ways, Blinkfeed is just one version of Live Tiles interface.

I had a WP and now the One. BlinkFeed tiles are a lot prettier!

That makes very little sense, how can it look more pretty its four identical Tiles with pictures and colors?, if anything Blinkfeed is a clone of WP.

However with WP you can have up to 20 colors of Tiles and its more customisble than Blinkfeed because you have the ability to resize your Tiles, Blinkfeed is basically one of the many Live Tiled interface of Windows Phone.

the major difference with blinkfeed in windows phone, is that you can exit blinkfeed into android. where as with the windows phone tiles are practically the only thing you get.

I think it looks great. Only thing i have against the design is the HTC logo that takes unnecessary space.

I still don't understand why they need to use space from the display for Android buttons?!

Why is everyone crying about the logo? It's the same logo placement as last year.

Because HTC need to try and make the phone smaller. The HTC One had a 4.7" screen yet it was as big or even bigger than 5" screen phones. The speakers take up a lot of bezel space already, they needed to try and fit a 5" screen in that same body like Samsung did with the S4. If these renders are true and the screen is indeed 5", then it would be one of the biggest 5" phones on the market.

Are you high? It's near impossible to tell the phones size and dimensions based off a god damn render. If anything the phone looks the exact same size as the original One. You people cry and complain about anything before it even hits the market. Once the phone is revealed to be the exact same size you people will find something else to nitpick about.

It's the sammy fanboys who blindly buy phones. No point in trying to explain to them. People need to buy whichever phone they feel is best for them.

He makes perfect sense while it's you who is not intelligent enough to understand even that much.

This phone will have 5" screen which is 0.3" more than the previous version.

Given that the overall surface to screen ratio looks unchanged compared to the One, it is obvious that this phone will be bigger..and also bigger than the S5 despite having a smaller screen.

Its just like when the HTC One was announced..knowing its screen size, I immediately said it will be bigger than the GS4 despite the S4 having a bigger screen.

Lol HTC fans don't know how to use logic. It is best just not to even bother with them.

It's not possible to tell the size unless they have something next to it as a reference, that's obvious. But it's common sense, unless they drastically reduced the size of those speakers that means the phone would be significantly bigger to be able to fit a 5" screen. How could it be the same size as the original one when it supposedly has a 5" screen and still has the same size bezels?

I don't see why people are complaining about the bezel? The only bad thing is the bottom one otherwise the side one's are okay! If and only if samsung's device beats this in nearly every section, then only I will consider samsung s5. I'm pretty annoyed about my samsung s3 except about update! The updates are pretty good

The specs will be the same, that is why the sammy isn't even on my list. Same specs, but cartoon UI and low quality. HTC will get my money.

Um the specs are not even going to be remotely close to the same. Never was and never will be. Samsung unlike Apple, actually uses their money on the consumer....

HTC might have given you the same specs, if they could afford it.

Come on HTC... I was waiting for the screen on buttons with the m8 thinking the bottom bezel would be gone... Sticking with my one for now then, might end up with an s5 though

Myself between Samsung an HTC, HTC is my preferred device for build.
However, they always skimp on hardware inside, this year seems like even with current soc, I think Samsung is going to eat their lunch again.

That sucks, but it is what it is, out gunned by money.

the grey one looks suspiciously like it is is just a photoshopped version of the gold one
just...it seems odd that the shine part around the camera is identical to the gold version
while it is different on the black
