HTC HD2 to get Windows Mobile 7 upgrade?
The HTC HD2, recently released overseas, has so many features and specs that its every move is watched intently by cellphone fans in the States and abroad. According to MSMobiles, there is one more reason for lusting after this phone: Windows Mobile 7. The site says that they have received information that as soon as the boys in Redmond announce Windows Mobile 7, HTC will follow suit and announce when the OS will be available on the HD2. Note that the upgrade will come directly from the Taiwan based manufacturer. The HTC HD2 is be the first model that is able to meet the chassis requirements for Windows Mobile 7 as laid out by Microsoft. One of the requirements is support for multi-touch, no problem for the handset which is the first Windows Mobile phone to be equipped with a capacitive touchscreen (which measures a massive 4.3 inches). With the huge amount of attention that the HD2 is receiving, even in the face of a few Android heavyweights, it is expected that the phone will be launched in the states through T-Mobile sometime in Q1. Don't forget to check out our review on the HTC HD2!

I don't care what you guys say, I'm still holding out hope that it'll come to AT&T. Getting the Xperia X10 AND HD2 in early 2010 would be one hell of a coup for AT&T.

...yeah, a coup on it's network capacity. lol

and sooner or later, manufacturers will hear about this achievement that htc has made, and thus would make a device with almost the same specs as the hd2 but with the manufacturers name, and would race to get windows 7 just like how they went and used android when htc was the 1st to make a device that uses it. the race for the best mobile device continues. and then again, they just released winmo 6.5, and if they release win 7, they could of used the time of right now, to make win7 more customizable. like android, but microsoft style.

What's the opposite of the single most used word on the net? Un-Fail!

all the more reason for me to not get the Omnia2 or the Toshiba TG01 when/if they come to VZW. HTC is starting to release every phone on every carrier in one way or another (which is a good call) as it maximizes on the potential for sales. I hate that Palm is still stuck with sprint, but i could care less that apple is stuck on AT&T. Everyone should be allowed to buy this phone and see that Windows Mobile doesn't suck as a platform when it is put in the hands of the right manufacturer, aka not motorola.

Drop Windows and go Android.

7. rjt185 posted on 23 Nov 2009, 06:40

That's what VZW is planning.

Windows mobile is the most powerful and seemless prgram for business users... why blackberry is the dominant mobile business phone i have no idea you have to pay 2x more for 1/2 the functionality for RIM.
