Beg to differ on that first point buddy. You know how WinMo has XDA-Developers? Well, Android has that but in aa slightly different way. They are completely designing the OS like Linux users do. it's fully open source. The Platform is a developers dream and THAT, my friend, is where the Customer base is. The beauty of the AT&T network is it is 3G AND GSM (working on an all fiber optic 4G network too). I know people here have said that VZW and Sprint Users no longer have trouble getting new devices activated to their accounts, but w/AT&T you just pop in the SIM and go. T-mobile is next up because they have really good offerings but they are just now getting their 3G off the ground. just my humble opinion as to power ranking. And here in the Detroit area I have probably the best coverage if not the same as every other carrier due to the frequency and proximity of the towers (sprint has the least. I know I install the data links betwen the towers and the central offices for all three carriers and silly metroPCS.) I'm an employee, but I'm no fanboy by any means. I think they are gouging us on rate plans. I got 4 lines on a family plan w/700 anytime minutes for $120 after fees and taxes and I throw away 1000 rollover minutes a month that I never use. Why, they won't let me have 4 lines on a cheaper plan. None of us talk much and we mostly talk to each other so we never use the minutes. I had to cancel the internet during the economic crunch because my wife lost her job and it's just way overpriced for a PDA even for me as an employee. (9% discount - what the heck is that?) I know that android fans are out there BECAUSE of it's open source nature. I have personally hated BBos since having owned a Pearl. I like the design of the trackball, but I couldn't customize it at all and I was so used to the touch screen from WinMo. I just couldn't do anything with it I wanted to do. But with Android, I know if it can't do it now, I can go to the forums and ask and somebody will put together an app to do what I need it to do. I'm actually starting some programming classes so I can be that somebody myself. That's the power of Open Sourced Android. and HTC has THE BEST user interface with the Sense UI.

i will die if it doesnt come to sprint but at&t an t-mos data network bug me. and i refuse to pay for verizons prices i will have to think about jumpin sprint. at the end of the day. this phone is a beast and no provider would have a problem selling them. the hd2 is going to revitalize the winmo OS and pull in a bunch of new people (especially to htc) because, if the snapdragon does what its supposed to then there wont be the major gripe about the lag of the phone and end users will see that winmo is customizable too, and the fact that its an htc takes it over the top because it combines the boxy winmo corporate feel with htc's youthful social friendly UI over lay... the only thing is the capacitive screen (this is a personal opinion) i hope its not like the G1 or heros screen

So everyone who said tmo shouldnt get this is prob on another carrier. The hd2 should be android as that is the way foward now. If T-mo would like this to be their main winmo ohone then so be it. either way it would be a pleasure to use this phone. while im not against any other carrier getting this device, T-mo shouldnt be put down in any way. They have had great service for the past 6 yrs now in the tri-state area. if you are unlucky enough not to hve 3g or tmo service at all then you are free to chose whichever carrier has service in your area. its as simple as that. pple need to relax and stop bashing t-mo bcos they are on vzw or att. chill out a bit and enjoy the phones. switch carriers if the phone is that important to you, if not wait for your carrier to get something good. the main 4 all have good phones and will continue to get good phones.
