If anything it should not go to T-Mobile. The carrier has been having a lot of problems lately. First the sidekick issue and then the voice/data problems last night.

Damn I want this phone... I don't give a crap, I'll just jump ship...unless it is to T-Mobile... If it is to go to T-Mobile, Unlocking it and Staying with AT&T.

SPEAKING TO A REP AT A TMO STORE LAST NIGHT I MADE A SIDE QUESTION OF THIS PHONE COMING TO TMO HE SAID ITS A POSSIBILITY BUT DANCED AROUND THE SUBJECT OF THE HD2, BUT HE DID HARP ON THE FACT THAT HIS STORES HTC REP GAVE HIM SOME "INSIDE INFORMATION" THAT THE DRAGON WIL DEFINITELY BE COMMING TO TMO SOON...

Still gonna need CZJ to come over and give me a "mobile makeover" before I even consider switching to T-Mobile, even for this awesome piece of hardware.

I spoke to an HTC rep at a vender booth yesterday and they are pushing the HD2 for VZW!

I think both AT&T and Verizon should get it. Or HTC should sell it unlocked. That's just me.

It's a GSM version, It'll obviously be AT&T or T-Mobile out the gate and maybe a CDMA carrier down the road.... maybe shortly, maybe longer.

All right, AT&T.... It's time you get off iPhone's proverbial junk and offer us some REAL powerhouses...

11. Fanboys Suck posted on 04 Nov 2009, 11:56

Amen! It's been too long.

...And would it kill you to get on the Android bandwagon, already?!?!?

So last night I was reading this big thread in the att forums about att not having an android offering. After reading through everyone's thoughts on the matter, I began to see exactly why att might be dragging their feet w/ Android- in their eyes there simply isn't a big demand for the platform as appose to BB OS, Winmo and iPhone OS. No matter how you look at it, the carrier has no Android and they're still pulling in customers, even if most of them were iPhone customers, and at the end of the day, they're a service provider, rather than just a wireless carrier; they're the only carrier to offer home internet, TV, land line, and wireless devices all under their name. The company could lose those hundred thousand or so customers, who truly want an Android devices because of Android and not the device itself, and still make money. att is getting Android, just not now... But I'm kinda hoping they get their paws on this, I don't feel like waiting for an unlocked US 3g version..

"they're the only carrier to offer home internet, TV, land line, and wireless devices all under their name" are you kidding me? ever hear of Verizon?

artz, I would have to disagree. We are a bunch of phone nerds on here. I am not sure the average person out there is just going to hop online and search phone OSs. If AT&T were to get Android (and my RAE has confirmed we are getting a device this year before Christmas), then I think a lot of people would get it. The reason I think so is because it is new and it is Google. Is google not reputable?? I think Android would do very well on this carrier, as well as any carrier, but only time will tell.

That did slip my mind seeing how I live in the south east and we mostly get at&t commercials for home services, at&t and comcast...

15. artz1986 posted on 04 Nov 2009, 13:13

I'm not saying ppl wouldn't rush to get an Android phone, but business wise, it wouldn't make that big of an impact to at&t if they were to hold out longer, because, judging by the reports, they're doing good, so why rush? But I am glad to hear that they're getting one soon. Though, seeing what htc has done w/ the HD2 flavored w/ Sense, Winmo or Android, I really don't care, as long as I can get something deeply customizable. I'm more of a gadget/style-head rather than a tech-head, though I understand some of the lingo, I'm not one to try to completely hack my phone to my liking...maybe when I'm making enough to buy a back up device at full retail I'll try and learn, but right now, lol...nope.

18. PapaJay224 posted on 04 Nov 2009, 15:13

WOW, You are clueless....tshow is right Verizon is the same thing. And android is a platform not a customer base...sure customers are going to explore but your acting like everyone is going Android proprietary, ITS JUST AN OPTION, and while everyone else is expanding, at&t is not, same ol song and dance, at&t is known for iPhone and thats the bed they made, now they need to sleep in it while the world passes them by again and again...sure they dont NEED android but its an option, if your talking about them being an Everything company under the same name you would think they would be as diverse to sell a Android phone or 2. Another note is androide is just now kicking off, if they have no future plans within a year of getting an androide device they should kiss it goodbye...

19. artz1986 posted on 04 Nov 2009, 15:49

That's my point, Android doesn't have a customer base- Wimo and bbOS have been around long enough to build up customer bases, and the iPhone is just straight popular, so why rush to get the latest tech out when it's not neccessary? Android is an 'option' right now, but there will be a Android customer base soon enough. But I was simply stating an observation and understanding based off of what I read in the forums...

Guaranteed AT&T will have an Android device by Christmas. Mark my words.
