"The closest that those models get to Ice Cream Sandwich is when their owners are eating one and it accidentally drips on the phone."

This article is full of gold. Unfortunately, that quote is how I feel about my phone.

Very nice, this is still quite an awesome smartphone, IMO, its one of those underrated phones that just didnt get marketed well enough.

The HTC Kingdom aka EVO Design also got the update as well.

My Evo Design now has the following software - Android 4.0.3 Sense 3.6 Software Version 3.14.651.0710RD

Note:this phone had been previously unlocked with HTCs unlock method. It still shows as being unlocked. (although S-on is still "on" as before)

Finally! Been waiting for this. But like SuperAndroidEvo said... better late than never.
Thanks for the post. I didn't get the update notification. Will manually check when I get wifi connection.

I did the update, and it bricked my phone...

It is about time. However, I got tired of waiting a few weeks ago. I unlocked my phone, and loaded the d3rp ICS rom. I have been very happy with it ever since. I have always thought this was a great phone, and very underrated. It is super quick, and since flashing the rom have not had a single lag. I am happy for everyone else that Sprint finally released the update. It was torture having to wait.

Now what is the over/under on us getting JellyBean? haha

Good news for me

I'm glad the 3D got ICS, but how about fixing the constantly dying TSP's that always need replacing? Evo Shift, Evo 3D, hell even the OG Evo had issues as well. ICS won't fix it, but can we stop ordering poorly made flex cables and touch screens?

Sorry that was so off topic, ICS looks good on it. Still a quick phone, plenty of legs

Got it last night it looks so much better but its not good on performance i did a benchmark with quadrant and it did way worse then before and i never delete texts and it took hours to open texts i had with someone when it only used to take seconds so over all it just looks better

Just got the 3.14.651.0710RD update this morning...looks neat...but now my phone is running really slow...is it possible to just go back to the older OS?

Not unless you root your phone.

Generally I'm happy with the update. The improvements outnumber the drawbacks. For example it's no longer possible to set the notification volume separately from the ringer volume, and the green Android themed smileys have been replaced with rather generic round yellow smileys. The bar at the bottom of the screens now has spaces for two additional program icons, and the web browser can have many more open tabs (although adding a tab or switching between them requires an additional step.)
