HTC Droid Incredible arrives early to lucky buyers
It is absolutely incredible. A glitch in Verizon's system allowed for a few early shipments of the HTC Droid Incredible, making today seem like Christmas in April for some lucky Big Red customers. The glitch has since been fixed. What is interesting is that the early bird phones are being shipped in boxes that read HTC Incredible with the word "Droid" missing. That led some forum cynics to express their opinion that the whole thing was a fake. In response, one of the lucky recipients of the phone responded with a video dripping with sarcasm. The handset is expected to arrive on April 29th for the rest of those who did not have lady luck on their side and are currently green with envy over those who are using their new Droid Incredible right this second. Did anyone out there find their new handset on the doorstep today?

me too honestly i also prefer gsm because its used world wide and i do travel every 6 months to spain to visit my sister so thats when gsm comes in handy.. but honestly the only 2 companies that use gsm in the united states at&t and t-mobile are not very reliable were i live in my area of los angeles thats why i have verizon because i noticed that in the high rise buildings all the way inside and at&t and t-mobile are dead zones verizon works beautifully .. thats why i have a blackberry storm 2 because it uses cdma and gsm so when i travel to spain i can take my verizon blackberry storm and i dont have to do a thing . it roams perfect on vodafone spain.. also one thing i noticed about european gsm networks is that there much better than at&t and t-mobile are in the states.. like for example vodafone spain works just as good as verizon works in the states.. over there gsm is more better inside buildings and it also works in the metro all the wayy underground works as good as cdma works here in the states. ...

i'm not particular to the technology, i'm just a t-mobile follower. i'm on an old plan that is about 40 dollars cheaper a month than anything i can find elsewhere. As much as i would like an incredible, i cant justify an extra grand over the course of a contract for a phone.

6. bbatts22 posted on 21 Apr 2010, 17:57

well, then you are particular to the technology. You like old cheap tmobile gsm technology, because it gives that old cheap plan. You are probably old and cheap, simple enough.

T-Mobile's technology isn't old and cheap morning, they are just competitive you idiot. Their parent company has more money than your momma or grand momma! BWAhahahaa God bless the ignorant! they need your prayers lol

lets see gsm or cdma? takes 3 gsm towers to do what 1 cdma tower does stay with me now thats 3 to 1 . now first point where u going to put all those gsm towers? remember now 3gsm towers= 1 cdma tower. point 2 who is paying for all those extra towers for gsm? i know it won't be the cell phone companies lol

I'm a GSM guy (the GSM carriers in my area do a better job than their CDMA counterparts, mind this isn't true for the entire U.S.), but as i've posted several times before on this site, CDMA has won the battle. GSM 3G is a variant of CDMA, which basically was a concession of defeat lol.

17. TitanArmada posted on 22 Apr 2010, 10:17

I am very pro CDMA as well but becareful how you express concessions of defeat as Verizons 4G network LTE is a GSM variant. So if the previous were true CDMA would be admitting defeat to GSM. However we all know that isn't true. All cellular technology will always have the issue of SPECIFIC area coverage, their Fanboys, and their ability to stock EVERY possibly envy invoking handset.

Most of the World uses GSM because it is more efficient.

Or because it was cheaper at the time?

I just a email with tracking number for mine! Fedex 2 day air, that should arrive wed (28th!). Although I work at Verizon and we already have it in stock and ive been playing with it a lot already . All I can say is that its fast as balls, although i did notice a slow down with live wall papers on and widgets galore running. We did drop it once and it cracked the screen already too. Just on edge and just a small hairline crack, woops. Get a case!
