HTC Droid Eris specs and features
So we know that Verizon will be launching the HTC Droid Eris along side the Motorola Droid on November 6th, and the Eris will cost $99 after rebate. So what more is there to know...well the specs and features of course. One of our tipsters said that training has begun on the Eris and it will come with the Android 1.5 operating system, but will have Sense UI integration (like on the HTC Hero). There will also be a 3.2" 320x480 HVGA display, 5MP autofocus camera (no flash), EVDO Rev A and Wi-Fi for data, HTML browser, 512MB ROM / 256MB RAM, pre-installed 8GB microSDHC card with 16GB support, virtual on-screen QWERTY, 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 2.1, and will have a Qualcomm MSM7600 processor operating at 528MHz. Dimension of the HTC Droid Eris are 4.45"H x 2.19"W x 0.51"D and has a weight of 4.23oz.

I'd have to take the Droid over the Eris due to specs. The Eris looks better though. Once I get Sense UI on the Droid ill be satisfied.

Sense UI is an HTC product, I don't think it will be available on the Droid since its a Motorola.

Yeah i know, I meant possibly rooting the device to get it on there.

what!! why dont it run on 2.0 ??? thats stupid!!

8. biggles posted on 31 Oct 2009, 09:38

It will run 2.0. HTC needs to port Sense to 2.0 but they're in the process of doing so. Don't worry.

Exactly... To be honest though, I have played with both and the Eris with 1.5 has much better features then the Droid with 2.0 (Eclair).

12. bamaguy posted on 31 Oct 2009, 19:24

So this phone will be able to run the 2.0 in the future?

14. traedmark posted on 01 Nov 2009, 10:11

Is it just because of the Sense UI? What other features are better?

11. trentsinmypants posted on 31 Oct 2009, 15:19

This will be the phone that replaces my iPhone and brings me back to big red...........
