Officially unveiled less than a week ago, the new HTC Desire 10 lineup is unlikely to hit shelves in the United States or Canada. Although there will be ways to purchase either of the two smartphones in these countries, they won't be available through official means.

According to a HTC official, “the Desire 10 announcement is currently focused on global markets outside of the U.S. and Canada.” So there you have it, folks. The Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle will not make their debut in North America anytime soon.

However, while HTC is focusing on other markets with the release of the new Desire 10 family, we shouldn't rule out a possible launch in North America later on.

Another aspect that could make HTC change its mind would be based on customers feedback, though we're not sure whether it would make a difference since the Taiwanese company might not be technologically ready to bring these smartphones in the U.S. and Canada.

Of the two, the Desire 10 Pro is the better geared smartphone. It comes with a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset inside, 3GB or 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal memory. There's also a 20-megapixel camera on the back, which features f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, and dual-tone flash.

HTC Desire 10 Pro sports a decent 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080) resolution. It also includes an impressive 13-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture, as well as a 3,000 mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Desire 10 Lifestyle has a similar 5.5-inch display, but a slightly lower HD (720p) resolution. Under the hood, there's a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB or 3GB RAM, and 16GB or 32GB of storage.

HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle packs a 13-megapixel rear-camera and a 5-megapixel camera in the front. The smartphone is powered by a 2,700 mAh battery and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box.
