Holy smokes people! Just when we all thought it couldn't get any better, it just did. By now, you're all probably aware about HTC and Verizon's big news today, but more importantly, we managed to check it out in person! Making the competition sweat, the recently announced HTC DROID DNA...

Wish they pushed the lumia 920 this hard cuz that's a great phone but phone arena never even talked about it but there all about this let down of a phone... The way there talking this is the best phone ever all u got to do is read the comments on all these dna articles and find out why htc is in the garbage and this phone will not sell well!
3. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
Yea cuz people r greedy there's nothing wrong with this phone
6. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5470; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
i tried to tell you not to expect too much. xD
as powerful as these high-end phones are now i definitely don't regret giving up some power in exchange for 4x the total storage and a battery that's larger by 1280mAh on my MAXX HD. it's all about keeping a good power/battery ratio for me at this point and if i wanted to i could trade my MAXX HD for a DNA because of the price difference. no problem.
9. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5470; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
nahhh, the DNA is a sexy phone but it's not going to serve me as well as the MAXX HD and it's pretty damn sexy too.

not mad at you bro......you seem to be the only friend here on phone arena......everyone else is filled with pride and biased opinions........i may be at times uninformed about certain things which is why i may appear to speak out brashly but one thing is for sure if you have a good UNDENIABLE point i will have no choice but to agree with you and see things your way.........some people here refuse to listen even if facts and Truth hit them square in the face.......peace to you bro and God bless a loyal fan of motorola like you even with all the "opinions" and criticism around here :) i bet the maxx hd is a beast of a phone

Hey you forgot me xperia lol. King is one of the if not the best poster on here though. Always has a relaxed, informed opinion to offer, unless you manage to piss him off first lol.

yea sometimes I wanna change my name because certain people tend to think I'm all for Sony when I'm just a fan of them not a brainwashed "Sony only" Fan boy! But its the name I came up with from the get go so I gotta keep it for now......not that I don't like it....but it would help avoid confusion when arguing sometimes ya know
sent from my HTC droid incredible 4g LTE

thanks guy. c':
yes, don't piss off KingKurogiii...things will get ugly.
15. KParks23 (Posts: 395; Member since: 13 Oct 2010)
Yea I guess u were right.. I underestimated Htc stupidity I had like 6 people waiting for this phone and I'm going to recommend that they all pass on it now. what a let down I was soooo hyped a 2020 battery and 16gb of storage what a bunch of retards!
26. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5470; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
i think the trade-offs will be acceptable for some people but i believe this could've been so much better.
30. androiddownsouth (Posts: 598; Member since: 02 May 2012)
King, you are so right, and you see me cussing about the very same thought on other threads lol.
5. 1ceTr0n (Posts: 288; Member since: 20 May 2012)
Still rather have Note 2, and im not going back to Ripoffwireless for any phone
12. Joshing4fun (Posts: 1025; Member since: 13 Aug 2010)
Amen to that! I'll stick to my tmobile $30 a month plan vs $100+ verizon plan and it's two year contract.
But i'm worried about windows phone. How can they compete with this?
19. androiddownsouth (Posts: 598; Member since: 02 May 2012)
The new Windows Phone 8's are pretty bada$$. I've had my hands on the 8X and the Lumia 822 for Verizon and I'm very impressed with the OS.
With WP8 looking as good as it does, BB10 will be dead on arrival, if it arrives at all.
22. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
Gotta disagree bro.....I think the black Berry is going to be fine ;)
23. androiddownsouth (Posts: 598; Member since: 02 May 2012)
We will see that is for sure. BB10 better bring it, b/c WP8 is extremely solid, and with the integration of their phones, computers, and XBOX360 platforms, WP8 will take in some market share. I'm real close to wanting the HTC WP 8X. Got my hands on it in training on Monday and it is VERY slick.
24. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
as great as the windows phone is.......there will be a "reserved" spot for RIM peace to you bro :)
28. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5470; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
oh believe me if i ever lose unlimited data on Verizon i'll be hopping my ass over to T-Mobile and getting either a Nexus 4 or an HTC 8X.
if WP8 had more ground swell with third party developers then i'd probably switch over but for third party developers to get that incentive WP8 needs more market share. it's a chicken or the egg situation for Microsoft and they realize that. that's why they're trying to make it easier for developers to develop for the platform now and since Windows 8 code will work with WP8 it may just be a matter of time now before the whole situation just works itself out. i think it's been hard for Microsoft trying to squeeze in between the Mobile Giants that are Apple and Google but i'm confident that they'll prosper from their efforts in due time. i'm probably going to get an 8X to have as a backup from a third party after it cheapens up over time. it takes a while for WP devices to depreciate though since there's so few of them so it may take a little time.
31. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
i as well believe they will get better in time......just like android has gotten alot better with time.........so far my only problem with them seems to be the UI as it appears to be really "cluttered" and unorganized or at least not as organized as you can make your android phone or even ios! Seems like scrolling down to find an app on a very long list can be really inconvenient.......Is it a deal breaker? not at all just will take a little more adjustments to the UI and a few new updates to fix that problem......all in all windows phone seems like the better option than going to IOS if anything as i get the feeling there will be improvements in the near future, unlike IOS which remains majority the same......
34. androiddownsouth (Posts: 598; Member since: 02 May 2012)
The UI is highly customizable brother. They have about 100k apps available, and my trainer for it said they are adding about 300 a day, so at that pace, it won't take long before they have most of the major apps that are on iOS and on Android.
33. androiddownsouth (Posts: 598; Member since: 02 May 2012)
I think once people see that Microsoft has finally put out a phone product worth owning, and are moving to an all in one ecosystem encompassing phone, tablet, pc, laptop, and xbox, WP8 could really take off, and should. The trainer I had for the WP8 is a die hard Apple guy(phone, tablet, macbook, you name it), and he is going to look hard at adding WP8 etc to his home.
WP8 also brings a load of security to it, along with Office products available on the go. I may still buy the HTC 8X. I'll take a couple days to think on it, but WP8 is slick and fairly simple to use. It is a worthy platform.
35. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5470; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
yeah, i want a unified environment too and i'm more plugged into Microsoft services than Google i.e. Xbox LIVE, Outlook, Office, Skype and my OCD LOVES the WP UI however Microsoft has ways to access all of the services i use from them on Android and Google doesn't even have Youtube on WP which is a big deal to me and i'm so much more invested into Android and it's so much cheaper to have Android because so much more is free. i still think i'd try out WP8 if the developer support went up, these are just the things i'm thinking about.

Let's keep it real gentleman. I applaud Htc and it's exclusive DNA device for Verizon this is and always will be Htc's downfall. Exclusive devices on Verizon do not sell that well. Plus the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 trumps this device in so many ways it's pretty comical. The ultimate all purpose/entertainment device ever made is the Galaxy Note 2 nothing else even comes close to comparison. I will be purchasing the Galaxy Note 2 on Tmobile November 15th...
50. androiddownsouth (Posts: 598; Member since: 02 May 2012)
We know we know WE KNOW! We have seen your Tmo pimpslaps this and that and the Note II pimpslaps this and that ad nauseum! Different phones fit different people. This is and ALWAYS will be true. What works for you works for you. Me and a lot of other people don't want a phone that has such a massive screen you can't put it in your pocket without wearing MC Hammer pants!
The way I see it, in my own person opinion, the only two ways the Note II trumps this device is in battery life and storage. For me, that is all. To me, the screen size is a drawback. I have a Nexus 7 tablet, I dont need a phone that is only 1.5" smaller in screen size.
Purchase it. Be happy. I'm happy for you. But please dear God stop saying your opinions as if they are absolute facts for the rest of us!

'Holy smokes people!'
Automaticlly new it was John V
11. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
yep.. this price tells everything. Bad year for HTC. They will try to take over lost marketshare even though it would mean they will have to pay extra to every single DNA.
14. redsox420 (Posts: 90; Member since: 27 Aug 2012)
Why in the puck won't HTC offer this beast to ALL carriers like ATT, Sprint, etc? I am going to get the Note 2 since this isn't on ATT.. Sad really. HTC is bleeding millions each quarter because of this crap. This if offered to ALL carriers would compete with the Note 2. I doubt they'll sell a million in the first 6 months.
16. KParks23 (Posts: 395; Member since: 13 Oct 2010)
Get the nokia lumia 920 if ur on att.. it can't be beat nokia lens maps and music are all awesome and the screen is beautiful u don't want that Samsung plastic POS trust me..
27. Twisted247 (Posts: 193; Member since: 12 Oct 2012)
LMAO, please tell me your not comparing the little 920 to the note 2. The nokia line is for the entry-mid level user, it couldn't compete with even the sg3 or i5 for Christ's sake.. GTFO of here with that garbage. . Also DNA > 920 ALL DAY
29. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
because dna is bigger and has 1080p screen? that's why you think it's much better?
crappy battery, hog sense, far worse camera, delayed updates and so on and so forth. Kid, back to school.
37. KParks23 (Posts: 395; Member since: 13 Oct 2010)
lol this guy is losing his mind or just trolling!! the 920 is a high end phone and beats the iphone 5 in every catagory and also beats the S3 in about everything he is obviously just a windows hater for some reason.. i took a trip to a att store today just to play with a 920 and i was very very impressed with the phone and windows 8. i got to mess around with nokia music and lens and they all worked great and the screen was stunning! and i personally own a S3 and i think its garbage.. i was really excited for the HTC DNA so i can get that and sell my S3 but its a let down for me in several departments so now i play the waiting game again.. but if ur on att i would give the 920 a go and the red one looks awesome!!
38. MistB (Posts: 543; Member since: 07 Jul 2012)
You don't own an S3 so stop BSing, f'in Nokia troll.
40. KParks23 (Posts: 395; Member since: 13 Oct 2010)
how many screen names u got .. and how u going to tell me what phone i have and dont have.. im done with u grow up kid!
32. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
for the record...920 is high end device...wireless charging, amazing sensitive screen, great unibody, great camera capabilities...but for you those are just gimmicks...but beats audio is obviously not.
At least Nokia is trying to implement as many new technologies as they can.
HTC bought 1080p screen technology and what else? It's htc one x in a little bit changed wrapping, the same crappy camera with useless imagechip and cpu from qualcomm. Any THEIR updates or pushing the boundries? I don't see it.
Grate we got 1080p but if HTC fails with this one they going to be in big troubles.
One more thing. Keep your mouth shut if you want to swear unless you want to be banned.

How long will this take to get 4.2? Summer 2013?
21. smartphonelover (Posts: 36; Member since: 26 Nov 2009)
Thank you for having so many things about this phone phonearena.com! Which all the articles you have on the launch of an Apple product, it seemed that you were just Apple fans. But this has restored some of my faith in you with having so many articles on this fantastic android device. It really does seem to almost be the perfect device. The lack of a MicroSD card slot is disappointing, but hopefully they'll release a 32GB version. I don't want to use USB hosting for my storage all the time.
36. Kkalian311 (Posts: 3; Member since: 13 Nov 2012)
I have had the privilege of having the DROID DNA for a few days and here are my few thoughts so far.
Battery life - For above average use it did not drop below 30% by the end of the day. I didn't have to worry about mid day charging at all.
The screen - Amazing picture quality. pure 1080p. and it seems the glass has a laminate which makes it very easy on the eyes. the colors are crisp the images flow smoothly on the screen.
The build - Very nice to handle and fits nicely into a pocket. its thin enough to not cause any obtrusiveness.
The hardware - The processor is super quick. Everything runs smoothly on the device. The one thing the device does lack is a SD card slot but its still doable without it. The cameras are awesome. The back is great in HD, and the front widescreen camera is a nice touch for sure. Image Sense helps the camera function a lot with super quick photos, HDR, and stability.
HTC Sense - it seems a lot lighter, and quicker than my old incredible 4g. This is a huge improvement as it used to lag a bit but now its appears to be gone.
Built in software - usual verizon stuff - NFL Mobile, audible, amex serve, amazon, zappos and viewdini, oh and slacker radio.
This is a true super phone. I have loved every minute of it.
I recommend the DROID DNA to anyone and everyone.

I hope this is true, all i want is battery life comparable to the s3 because i use heavy apps like groupme , instagram and facebook occasionaly. all the other gripes like storage is nothing to me .

48. bohannibal (Posts: 27; Member since: 17 Aug 2009)
It looks great but after the HTC Thunderbolt im concerned about trying another HTC phone so I think Samsung is running the game now with the GS3 and SGN2 so i guess i will go with the Note 2
51. androiddownsouth (Posts: 598; Member since: 02 May 2012)
The HTC Rezound was and is a highly underrated phone imo, far far better than the Thunderbolt ever was. And, let's be honest, the Thunderbolt wasn't that awful for being the first ever LTE phone in the US. Sammy is making some great stuff there is no doubt about that. You can't go wrong with Sammy, or Motorola, or HTC, depending on what exactly you want in your phone. Stay away from LG though lol. I think the only phone of theirs that has a shot is the Nexus 4. Rest have been disappointing.
49. Einstein333 (Posts: 23; Member since: 22 May 2012)
Seems like HTC hasn't learned much from the One X mistakes. This phone would probably have been the perfect smartphone for me if it had a decent battery (at least 2500+) but now it's most probably completely useless for me...
