HTC DROID DNA disappears from Verizon web site

0. phoneArena 03 Aug 2013, 01:00 posted on

Is Verizon about to launch the HTC One? We were given an exclusive Verizon road map last month from a source and this information showed an August 1st launch for the HTC One on Verizon; but just the other day, new information came to light showing that the launch of Verizon's HTC One had been delayed until August 15th...

The HTC one is a beautiful phone.. And with only the s4 against it on VZW its a viable option RIGHT NOW.. But it won't be once new flagships are announced in the coming months.. Its too late for the one to do any good

Very unfortunate and to think this used be a flagship device.

Is the One no longer a flagship device? I feel like the specs are still top-notch and unless you want a phablet, which seems to be the next wave of upcoming phones, I'd consider the One a top contender. I'm still hoping to upgrade to the One, I just wish it wasn't so delayed!

This phone is a flagship. There was no phone better until the One was released in April. 1080p, 5", S4 Pro. 2 GB Ram.

That's better than the Moto X or any other phone excluding the S4 and One.

The HTC DNA nearly had it all at the time it was released, but its Achilles heel was the 16GB storage cap without an option to add on. How many people who have the demand for a top tier phone (like the DNA was) and don't require more than 16GB?

The Butterfly got it's 4.2.2/Sense 5 update back in early July. Which means the DNA should see it by Q4 2013/Q1 2014.

It makes allot of sense that The One's release date got pushed back. VZW needed time to make sure all supply of the DNA was gone first. The DNA was just too big of a phone. People weren't gonna buy it when they could get The One.

It never felt excessively big when I tried it in store, but it is a very tall phone. Add on the BoomSound speakers of the Butterfly S (which could have been a DNA 2) and you get a 5" phone in a phablet body. It was a nice device, but HTC Droids have been a tough sell for the last couple years. Motorolas get all the attention - and the OS updates.

True. And the Motorola's screen sucks.

Wish they would've gotten the DNA 2 and not the One.

I've always felt the Droid DNA was underappreciated. It has great specs even today. 1080p, 5" screen, quad core processor, and 2gb of ram. Isn't it also getting Sense 5 in a future update? Hopefully HTC and Verizon won't abandon future OS updates on it too soon.

I never saw the HTC DNA on verizonwireless for free. I kept my eye on it and before it was removed from the verizon website i ordered it for $49.99. It is still available on HTC's site to order (htc.com/us/smartphones/droid-dna-by-htc/) for $49.99 with 2 year contract. I think the HTC DNA is a better deal for $50 compared to HTC ONE for $199.99 (probably) from verizon. You get the better casing for the HTC ONE but you get built in wireless charging for the HTC DNA. I actually replaced my S4 for the DNA because of lag issues and dead pixels (on my model).

Doesn't the DNA have horrendous battery life?

I take it off charge at 6am and at 11pm i put it on charge with about 20-25% battery left. My usage is between moderate to high. Plus i have a qi wireless charger at home and at work, if its necessary (haven't used it yet as i was testing full day battery). I am also thinking of batteryguru from snapdragon as i heard it helps a lot with battery. I am just hoping i will get 4.2 with sense 5 soon.

I am right with you; just got the DNA at $50. Basically its too good at that price to wait and possibly lose early upgrade.

Uploaded 3500 songs from my Rhapsody playlists....with plenty of room to spare. Sounds better through headphones than a 4th gen touch. KILLS the sound in my Lexus.

Battery seems short...but who cares? Qi charging at home & office plus USB port in my car. Wireless charging is what leaves the one behind.

Screen is best in sunlight I ever saw. Who cares about "angle"...but we all go outside once in a while.

From an og RAZR bought 11/11/11....this is a cool upgrade.

It's a good choice especially for the price. It has almost no lag and wireless charging built in is awesome. I bought a couple of cases and with the case the wireless charing works fine.

It wouldn't have been worth to wait for the htc one and pay 4 times more ($50 to $200) and lose those 2 things.

The only thing htc one is better is newer software. Hopefully we'll get it soon as the international version (butterfly) has received it.

I think the free offer was thru email to certain Verizon customer's, but u could sign up thru a page. It was never promoted free on the public page.

They had a promotion in may or June where it was free with a promo code. I cashed in on this deal but returned it once I found out Verizon would get the one

Your "exclusive Verizon road map" has been found to be bogus. The new Droid lineup will be arriving by 8/20, the LG exalt still doesn't exist and the HTC One has past its due date. I would likely pass on publishing the next thing this "anonymous tipster" provides.

Definitely eyeing the MAXX, but waiting to see a price on the 32 GB Moto X. I'll have to see them side by side, compare screens, feel how comfortable each is to hold. But the MAXX battery life is a big draw for me.

Are half of you trollin? The HTC One is not outdated and very much still a contender. Snap dragon 800s will offer slight not noticeable increase in speed lets be honest. Hard to believe it was a flagship really? HTC rocked 1080p screens first, and did the best job of making them. First to make a premium quality metal phone. How about You just enjoy great phones... Even with the new products coming out it is a far cry from being an old phone. Note 3 garbage, LG G2 is sexy, Honami i'll never see it on verizon. So really not that much is even happening. Love or hate, either way you won't know till you buy it and use it.

Also have fun wasting 300$ on a droid maxx which is essentially the same damn phone as the old razr maxx with 200 more amps. Dem 720p screens n last gen processors, MMMMMM
