HTC Bee to take its sting to Verizon?
While there is no carrier branding on the rendering, a leaked shipping ROM for the HTC Bee showed that the little stinger was heading for Alltel. Since Alltel was gobbled up by Verizon, it is Big Red that should end up with the Bee hive.

It pretty much is. I don't get why companies are trying to do more low end versions now. The low end versions tend to have the most issues and are not what most people want. They like the price, but once people get the phone they are disappointed. This will hopefully be better than the Eris, but I doubt it.

Verizon thinks every 5 year old also needs a smartphone and data package.

why would this be going to vzw? the alltel merger was a long time ago, long before this phone was developed. alltel is still around and it makes sense that they would get a device like this

i dont understand buying lowend phones like this? to most of use the cost of the phone isnt the problem its the bill we get after and this will require the same plan my droidx has so why would i buy a lesser phone that isnt capable of giving me the best bang for my buck? verizon needs to have something in place to justify offering cheaper phones because id rather spend 50 more dollars up front than settle for this polished turd. this is why the kin phones failed they were low end phones for kids and teens but what parent will dish out for thier kid to have a smart phone? i know i had a tracfone when my folks gave me my first phone some 12 years ago... maybe tiered pricing isnt so bad in cases like this if they really offer legit amounts of data for each tier i know with my x i could live nicely with 3gbs a month. and looking at alltels phones its like they get what verizon doesnt want to offer but its odd the bill still said verizon when the merger happened in my area.

The remaining "Alltel" they speak of has not been "gobbled up" by Verizon, it is an independent CDMA entity now owned by AT&T. While this phone may also be Verizon bound, the contents of this article are incorrect.

Why is everyone hating on this phone? Not every smartphone has to have a 4" screen or have a 1ghz processor. I personally like it for the fact that it is small. Every other Android phone on Verizon is simply, huge. At least for a phone. They aren't too big to take but i like to have a phone i can easily put in my pocket and forget until i need it again.
