HTC Accord lacks microSD card slot, said to take amazing photos
Share:
The device has 16GB of storage, and no slot for expandable memory. Though the “option” to switch storage to an SD was grayed out according to the tipster, so take everything with a grain of salt. The device is said to have a good build quality and, consistent with HTC’s methods, is made of plastic. Windows Phone 8 running on the Accord is bit rough around the edges and “still has some things to clean up.” The 8MP camera is very fast and takes “phenomenal photos.” The current set-up does not indicate any support for features like burst mode or “ImageSense” capability.
We are sure to learn more about the HTC 8X/Accord in the coming weeks. The news about the camera is certainly interesting. This latest rumor is in contrast to previous tips which indicated that the device would have expandable memory. The lack of memory expansion was a sore spot for many Windows Phone users in the past. However, the fact that SD memory card expansion is supported on Windows Phone 8 at all relives a bit of consternation for Windows Phone fans that desire that flexibility.

The CEO of HTC already claimed the One series would take very good pictures. The result we all knew. Hope this time is true.

As a owner of an HTC One X, i will kindly disagree with you, i have compared it to my sister's S2 and it is better, not to mention low light performance my One X rapes the S2 in low light, just for your information.

Right, unfortunately my one s took nice and ugly pictures, could not always focus what I had in front of me!

Ugh only 16GB and no SD slot? Honestly that's enough for me but that's not enough for others. At least put 32 on board. Still looking forward to what HTC has to offer for WP8, but the Lumia and Ativ S are looking pretty good right now

16GB is not bad, sure avaliable storage for use maybe be 13GB or 12GB. I don't use my phone for movies and photographs. That's what my slr or point and shoot is for. The SD lot I am not a fan of. Why because of lag when micro sdhc is being scanned on power cycle up and also accessing and read and writting issues that may arise.

Yeah, I agree with you. I prefer built in storage over an SD card because I've had lag and file reading problems because of it. They should just let other have an option to have more memory if they want this to be their top handset for wp8

Unless something amazing is announced between now and Nov I'm going with the 920

I believe there is no excuse for not having expandable memory beyond budget models. Even if you are not taking pictures, a person could easily fill 16 GB if they are using it to store music, and possibly play a few games.
If there is going to be the Windows 8 Dropbox app with auto upload of pictures taken with the camera. it would make storage easier when it comes to photos. However it would still fail to allieviate storage concerns.

actually budget models need it more. 2 reasons
1) SD Card slots are cheaper than putting it extra memory.
2) Budget models usually get stiffed in everything else, if they were also stuck with 1GB or less internal memory, they would basically unusable.
Premium models should have it too, but they typically have plenty of internal storage, and are perfectly usable with or without a microsd, a microsd is basically ESSENTIAL on a low end model, due to the paltry internal memory they have.

Everyone always want more than they need. I thought 16GB on my Lumia 900 was too little memory. Well, I still have 9GB free on my phone... And a 25GB on my skydrive.

The 920 will definitely be my primary phone but I'm still shopping for a secondary (cheaper) phone. If the price is right on the Accord, it will be my 2ndary phone! The only thing that somewhat bothers me is that it looks too much like a Lumia knock-off!

great photos? thats hard to achieve when there is pureview in the game already...

great photography is with the individual and not the camera you have. You can have the top of the line slr with a good prime lens/fast glass. If you don't know how to work that composition then you suck no matter what you have on hand and how much you edit said composition. It this case pureview with a high ppixel count doesn't mean much, unless you want a larger area to crop. Then you have noise that climbs up with that big of a pixel count.
I hate convergence technology, I find it pointless and really a waste of money. I guess this seperates the ordinary joes/janes from the prosumers/hobbyist/professionals.
