Nothing ever happens until the first step. Have heard the rumour about integrating music services from HP last year after the purchase of Palm was completed and initial talk of devices were in gossip stage. They may not be there yet. But points for aggresion.

Now, about that lack of apps ......

It seems like apple is trying to have anyone that tries to compete with them. Hp may want to watch out. They could be next. Apple is afraid that maybe the appeal of the shiny apple on the back of their devices may be losing it's hold due to companies like Samsung, Htc and Motorola offering Android based devices that in a lot of ways actually beat the iphone with better features and hardware. There's only one reason to buy an iphone and that's to jump on the apple band wagon. I'm not saying that the iphone is inferier in everyway.. Just in most ways.
