I own a Sprint Palm Pre and webos truly is a GREAT OS. But Palm was stupid and they followed in Apples footsteps which they just couldn't replicate. Because sadly, they just are not Apple. They don't have the rabid fanbase that will buy anything they make as long as it had an i in front of it. HP/Palm needs to learn from Samsungs Galaxy S strategy and success. You don't have the mindshare that Apple does, so what do you do? You make a high end handset that's competitive with all the non-apple phones and release a version of it for every single carrier and hope that all your work paid off. I say all the non apple phones cus its pretty much like that right now in the US, there are two categories, iphones on one end and all other smartphones on the other.
Long story short Palm needs to get their new handsets on every carrier in the world. No exclusivity agreements. No joke just plain attack the market. Make a phone that beats the Evo, Epic, Droid X, G2, and Mytouch 4g. Make different variants that support every band in the usa and globally and then aggressively market it. Then PROFIT! The strategy is easy, its the hardware that's hard. But I don't think they understand the simplicity of the strategy... Apple its going to bring an iphone out to the four big carriers in the usa, then Androids sales numbers will go down. I predict this even though I'd be sad to see it happen. Cus I have a Tmobile Vibrant and a Sprint Pre.
