HP TouchPad vs iPad 2: web browsing comparison

0. phoneArena posted on 30 Jun 2011, 21:40

Connected to the same Wi-Fi network, we opened a link in a window to see which one loads up the same page first. And right off the bat, it’s evident that the TouchPad is delayed with its operation in rendering the page...

I would really like to see a comparison of scrolling, zooming and rendering with pages that don't have flash. I think it is obvious that the touchpad would be slower, since it is loading and rendering flash content. Can we get an Apples-to-Apples comparison?

phonearena! its never a good comparison, when comparing a none flash support device with a flash capable one,i thought you guys should have known this by now, that its not proper...........

oh they know better, but as long as it makes steve jobs look good, they are ok with it.
Its still on the slow side though. A honeycomb tablet can load up a page with flash in close to the same time it can take the ipad to use its mobile view.. lol

iPad loaded a couple things before TouchPad. Touchpad finished the whole page before iPad.

I'd like to see a demo of zooming into reading columns.

I'd also like to see a demo of a more realistic case of multitasking when reading lots of pages.

Can the iPad load pages in the background while you are reading one page? I believe the touchPad could do that.

What about text selection and copy and paste from web to application. The whole process?

my friend has one and it lags big time, but none of you android or apple fans will get it, cuz you cant take the time to try the other product.

watch the 2:52 mark where he is displaying the scrolling the IPAD only loaded the part of the page that was viewable, the other part of the page had not loaded yet. and the HP touch pad had loaded the entire page "with Flash"
