over priced for sure....for 200 dollars more, you can get a decent laptop.

What Laptop (notebook) can you get for $200 brand new, please point me in the direction of the website. I'll buy one today........... Cause I discredit you on this information!

Who said anything about $200.00 brand new? If you read the entire article you would see that it says $199.00 after $50.00 mail in rebate. When you add $200.00 it comes out to be $450.00, and yes you can find a decent one for that much.

funny because i when i was shopping around for my laptop a few months ago the cheapest laptop i found was around 700-800 and it was an acer. sooo i rather have an HP (which is what i got) but i think its pretty dran hard to find a laptop for 400 dollars.

There is a toshiba one at Walmart for $450.00 dollars. Toshiba is a pretty good manufacturer. And you obviously arent looking in the right places. And I just went to bestbuy.com and found 2 more toshibas one for 379.00 and 399.00.

For a netbook with these specs, this is a damn good deal. I just built this laptop on HP's website, for this same configuration (without the built in broadband) your looking at $439.99. Now HP's site may be overpriced compared to purchasing through a big box retailer, but this is still a $200-$250 savings. If your someone walking in to a store and you have the choice between a $50 aircard(after rebate) that you have to take home and set up, and spending an extra $100 bones or so and getting a laptop with the deal....no brainer. Regardless of what you think of Verizon, thats a winning formula for all involved.

I dont know what your looking for in a "decent laptop" But I bought my HP 2 months ago... HP DV5T Windows Vista Home premium 64 bit, T6400 intel core 2 duo 2.0GHZ processor, 4GB Ram, 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive, upgraded HD display, integrated web cam. . . Shipped to my front door for a grand total of $650. And they are even cheaper now. If you paid 700-800 for a "decent" acer you got ripped off! lol Not that Acer is bad but like you said you would rather have an HP... and its absolutely NOT HARD at all to find a decent laptop for $400..

I'm not talking about the article duh, I am talking about THE GODFATHER's Post, you need to read the thread!!! And I am still awaiting a link, since you were so quick to respond to what wasn't even directed to you. And maybe what you're not taking into consideration ragarding finding a total price laptop around the price of $450 is is there Broadband Access included, NO. You still would have to find a provider that would offer that, which means more money. So! I hate when dumb people comment on stuff they don't know, just to make themselves sounds smart.

To be quite honest....I've got a Sony Viao laptop, and I hate lugging the damn thing around with me. It's heavy, barely fits in my briefcase, barely fits in my backpack...now the HP MINI...there's something that's small, easy to carry around, easy to use for just straight internet use and can be used with my Storm. So there are some people that would prefer a netbook to a laptop...(I've got a custom gaming desktop, so the laptop is kind of the middle man out.) Oh, and no offense, but Acer is no way a "decent laptop." Those things blow. So do most compaqs. You'll have to drop at least 700 to pick up a decent laptop. Unless you find a good deal that is.

For a travel minded customer, this netbook is an ideal way to go. It is possible to attach the unit to an external monitor for presentations, and is a heckuva lot easier to carry after a long day than a 15" or larger laptop.

Overpriced...5 Gigs is nothing for some people... honestly, a waste...

it's a good deal.... there is no way you'll get the same specs with built in aircad, and WIFI capable.
