0. phoneArena 19 Mar 2017, 18:35 posted on

HMD, which has a global brand license allowing it to design and produce Nokia handsets, has filed a patent for the design of a phone that strongly resembles the Nokia 6. The document was filed on November 18th and was approved just two days ago by EUIPO (the European Union Intellectual Property Office). The Nokia 6 was unveiled in January exclusively for the Chinese market...

Considering screens with 2.5D curved glass often shatter on the first drop, the Nokia 6 doesn't even display a hairline fracture along the edges. So I think Nokia was onto something here with the Nokia 6, which is universally better built than any of Samsung's active series.

2.5D screen + no hairline fracture = better built than samsung active?
nice logic, lol...

just wait till phonebuff did nokia6 drop test and see how much facedown drop it can stand...
(side note: S7 active survive 50 drop WITHOUT a single hairline crack, only a few scratch since it use shatter resistant screen)
and dont forget that S7 active also dust+water-resistant and shock-resistant

This design will anyway be obsolete in 1 year max because all the mid range phones will have near bezeless display by 2018. Itll filter down obviously.

Nokia 6 might be durable, but it ain't anywhere near the Active series from Samsung.

How you can compare Nokia 6 and S7 Active?!? Compare Nokia with Galaxy S7. You can compare S7 active with CAT phones...

Can't blame them, many people wanted Nokia to come back guns blazing. Patenting a rather generic Samsung looking design isn't going to make Nokia stand out.

They need to stop! (Patent a design).
Nokia or whatever their name is, haven't learn from history.. Patent equal someone else will sue them down the road.
Just make your phone and keep moving... SMH
