Would you be interested in paying less than $100 for the Windows Mobile superstar HTC HD2, or is your brain now focused on the EVO 4G?...

would be a nice phone except for the fact that it has the horrid winmo OS. evo 4g ftw!

There's absolutely nothing wrong with WinMo. It gets the job done. Just because MS didn't pretty it up to win over the "oh it looks pretty so it must be good" crowd isn't a reason to bash it. And of even more imprtance is the fact that HTC slapped Sense on it and it looks absolutely awesome. You'd be hard pressed to find a stock WinMo icon without digging very deeply for it. If I wasn't firmly in the Android camp and in love with my Droid I would seriously consider buying this phone.

I agree to you on this one. I do not see any down side from using WinMo 6.5 instead of Androids. The WinMo haters mostly come from WinMo 6.1, but this HD2 is got the 6.5 with HTC Sense UI. It is more friendly and reliable. I am not sure people who say they hate WinMo even had a chance using one of them or simply just follow the crowd and bash WinMo consistently.

Dude, this is the most intelligent comment on the WM situation I've heard in a very long time. You are absolutely right, and yes, with HTC Sense interface it's not only functonal, but also beautiful. I'll add to that my concern that the "oh it looks pretty so it must be good" crowd, unfortunately, has too much influence on the direction of the smartphone market, and the upcoming Windows Phone 7, from what we see so far, might be a little too dumbed down in order to please an average consumer (i.e., no cut and paste - unacceptable for a professional user).

I was so tempted to get this, and then Microsoft had to announce WP7. I guess i'm going another 8 months with my MT3G before my upgrade, and that's hoping T-Mobile gets a WP7 phone this year.

I would rather wait until 4G gets more mature then to jump into 4G. HD2 seems a nice phone to use while waiting.

Thats true 4g does need to grow but even using tha EVO 4G on 3g still makes all other phones uncompareable to it..that is for now.

Saw someone in one of my classes with one of these and I wasn't sure it it was an HD2. Later on we were at a meeting and the owner just handed it to me to record video of what was going on, its crazy light! And the video recording seemed to be pretty good too. Man, I'd love one of these.

All the bashing around winmo is complete bullshit... Even the famous xda developers community prefer winmo over android...
