Google today started rolling out an Android 7.1.2 beta 2 software update to select devices, including the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Nexus Player.

To be clear, this new Nougat update (build number NPG47I) is only reaching folks enrolled in the Android Beta Program, since it's a beta. Nevertheless, a stable, final release of Android 7.1.2 should be available to everyone in the near future, possibly in a few weeks' time. Google previously mentioned that this would be an "incremental maintenance release focused on refinements", including "bug fixes and optimizations, along with a small number of enhancements for carriers and users."

Android 7.1.2 beta 2 comes with good news for owners of the Google Nexus 6P: they are finally getting the ability to use Pixel-like fingerprint swipe gestures. More exactly, if you have a Nexus 6P with Android 7.1.2 beta 2, you can now check for notifications by swiping down on the fingerprint sensor. For this to work, you'll need to make sure that the feature is enabled via Settings -> Moves (as see in the image embedded above). Earlier this month, the feature was made available to Nexus 5X owners, and we were obviously expecting it to reach the 6P, too.
