0. phoneArena posted on 22 May 2012, 20:47

Google has rushed to patent some of the technology involved with Google Glass now to make sure that the problems we are seeing now with patent infringement cases do not happen in the future; four major patents have been secured by the Mountain View based firm...

Good! They don't need someone trolling them over something they created.

2. protozeloz posted on 22 May 2012, 21:23 11 1

taco logic : they are patenting so Apple does not come with their own version, patents it and revolutionize the industry and claim Google made a ripoff

4. Mark.J.Linskiy posted on 22 May 2012, 21:26 7 1

Yes. Although, now that they patent it and Apple can't really steal the idea, he will most likely say it's stupid and pointless. At least until Apple comes out with their version, if that ever happens.

3. JcHnd posted on 22 May 2012, 21:25 3 1

Nice move... now that Apple is going around like Gollum for patents to sue everyone!

5. Mark.J.Linskiy posted on 22 May 2012, 21:28 8 1

That's because Apple does not understand what the terms "compete and innovate" mean.

Good, So no iGlasses or some sh1t like that...

I can truly say that PhoneArena is now infested with Fandroids. Any good news posts about BlackBerry, iOS or WP will get seriously criticized by Fandroids and thumbs down on every good responds.

8. QinEmpire posted on 22 May 2012, 22:54 2 10

Yeah, people who generally prefer a laggy system over a superior one.
Its really pathetic.

9. Mark.J.Linskiy posted on 22 May 2012, 23:25 5 2

Calling people "Fandroids" for stating facts? Meanwhile you decide to pull statements out of your rear that you believe are true.. You might want to educate yourself on the difference between and opinion and fact. I assure you that there are PLENTY of iOS/WP and RIM fans that will go around criticizing Android related articles. Both of your posts contradict each other..

10. frydaexiii posted on 22 May 2012, 23:25 5 2

Funny how you consider an outdated OS, a locked down OS and a boring OS "superior".

Android may lag sometimes but atleast we know it's due to background processes, what's WP & iOS's excuse when they lag and use transitions to hide long load times?

17. QinEmpire posted on 23 May 2012, 00:11 3

Okay, if there's a hole in your pants would you cover it or ignore it?
It seems that you would be glad to show what's inside from your comment.

LOL? What?

You know, you didn't need to type the exact same message here as in the Lumia thread. I already read and dismissed it there.

Nice try at trolling, newf4g.

Nokia had demoed nokia glasses way back in 2009. Nokia must sue google for copying nokia glass , drop down notification bar and many more stuff

16. Sniggly posted on 23 May 2012, 00:09 3 3

Well, that was three years ago, and obviously Nokia hasn't gotten very far with their concept. Google is allowed to leapfrog them. Besides, how do we know that they weren't working on it before Nokia's concept video came out?

21. shadez10 posted on 23 May 2012, 00:42

just wait... dont jump to conclusions... nokia is very secretive. we dont know they might be testing these things in their lab right now... who knows right?..

just like the pureview tech, we really dont know about it until it was officialy announced...

All of the iFanboy blogs and commenters are dismissing Project Glass as too nerdy, unnecessary, ridiculous, or scary. iCNN immediately ripped into it as usual, as did the writer of The Oatmeal, who is an obvious iFan from how often he makes sure that everyone knows that when a character uses a phone or computer, it's made by Apple.

I say screw 'em. Project Glass is real life sci fi, and opens the door for a world of possibilities in a way the iPhone never did. That's right, assholes, think about it: there is no resemblance between Project Glass and any Apple product. This is the innovation you claim Google doesn't have. I'll take my Google glasses and I'll wear them proudly, so long as they do prove to be as useful as I think they'll be.

18. QinEmpire posted on 23 May 2012, 00:16 1

Google should hire you. kbyty

20. Sniggly posted on 23 May 2012, 00:20 1

Working for Google would be freaking incredible. I'd love to work for the corporation that exemplifies the principle that you don't need to be an asshole or price gouge people in order to succeed at business.

I think you should get hired by Grumpies Inc.

26. iamcc posted on 23 May 2012, 07:43

I could see myself using this only if it was incorporated into real glasses.

Plus i'd save a ton of money on contact lenses ;)

19. andyboi_ph posted on 23 May 2012, 00:16

i wish the camera can be placed on the left side of the glass, something like an inter-changeable function, so those who are more convenient as to which side can switch it seamlessly.

22. matrix_neo posted on 23 May 2012, 00:47 2

iFanboys and Nokia fanboys are only jealous coz Google was the first to create this cool and innovative device. I'm sure they will do everything to discourage people to buy once available commercially like what they always do with Android.

Always remember innovation and technological advancement is not limited to apple, nokia or ms , it's for everyone. Google is leading the way. The Google glass can change our lives, having these patents is a way to acknowledge Google created this device. I'm sure Google will not hesitate to license it to companies who once to develop it furthermore once it hit the mainstream.

Good luck Google.

I wanna share something to you guys, I know a guy who recently bought an iphone 4s 32gig version. After about more than 3 weeks of usage, I heard him say this words, " I bought this phone because of many claim how awesome this phone is" (hype), he then added that "it is only slightly better than his Samsung corby 2. in practical usage" upon hearing him say those lines I had the biggest gin in my life. ^_____________^

nice invention but...

nobody will be walking around with these glasses i can promise u that

they are not attractive at all... and people's lives are too busy to be dealing with using the software in them...

28. InspectorGadget80 posted on 23 May 2012, 19:27

Google NEEDS TO PATENT every invention they produce. But glad they did before someone says hey you copy our glasses I THINK NOT
