Google has been doing some great things with its search features and Android devices. Yes updating to ICS has been a real pain, but many phones are starting to get the update and Google keeps pushing forward with new creative ideas. Google maps is always improving, still not happy about the Android Market name change to Google Play :( but still provides what I need for games, apps, and media.

Not surprising. Google has a broader brand of consumers and more attention b/c of what they can do in the future beyond what Apple can do in hteir life time.

Google is innovating while others stay stagnant. People love new & fresh. Google is giving that to the public, & just think Google I/O is still coming. What other tricks does Google have up its sleeve? 2012 is still VERY young!

Google is more popular ae more trusted. I think the corruptness and questionable tactics of Apple is slowly starting to hit the mainstream

Google, trusted? A little too invasive IMO. I also don't trust Facebook.

you count that Google is being piling up "free services" that are as reliable as any paid service someone else offers, plus they keep on improving their services even without competition Google Search is quite awesome every day, and other services keep growing well tied up.

Wow...very scientific. Just goes to show you how naive the general public is.

Wow, someone skipped their math class. Google, Apple and Twitter all have 101%.

I am surprised and really put this poll on the suspicious side. Google has a good search engine and a large share of mobile users due to its iOS-cribbed android os. But that's all actually. It is not even a tech brand, it's a search software brand. I'd put GE, Siemens, IBM and probably Microsoft, Apple and Nokia on top. But Google, please.

well that's uneducated. by that standard then apple isn't a tech company either. Google has branded phones, TV tuners, laptops, and more.. as well as a very broad range of FREE software suites, probably the worlds best mapping system, and most definitely the best search engine.. that makes them as much or more of a tech company than apple and puts them near the same range of Microsoft. all the best software on a Mac is made by MS. All the best software on your iphone is made by Google. and that's the junk apps compared to the versions on android.

Really? Google has tons of trials against it, I wonder why. Its mapping system is average, much better ones are TomTom, Nokia maps and others. Apple, for example, designes its own OS, which puts it in its internally developed devices, like displays, chips, etc. What Google makes is only software, which then 90% of the cheap asian companies put in their devices. I do not have only an iPhone, but the ''best software" on it is definetely not Google's. Actually all the soft on your Android phone is 90% visual iOS, just an example. But as I said, I'd put neither Google, Apple nor Microsoft on top.

lol, Apple has tons of trials against it too. All companies do. The bigger you are the more people want to laywer you. Google maps navigation is more accurate than tomtom and Nokia maps more often than not. Google and MS design their own OS, which it puts in its internally developed devices, like displays, ect. What Apple makes is software, which then its 100% put on devices made by foreign companies and slave labor. Not only do i have an android phone, but the "best software" is definitely not Apple's. Actually all the soft on your Apple phone is 90% Google integrated, with all of its biggest and latest features taken directly from Android. But, as I said, MS and Google are definitely above Apple as a true tech company.
like what I did there?

educate before you talk.
1. companies take what they consider is important when they start a project and that includes icons
saying that android "visual" is 90% iOS is also a big pile of ignorance, if you are trying to pretend not being biased they you should act better.
