Google is launching “livestream” music festival Good Fest

Google is launching a first-of-a-kind “livestream” music festival, called Good Fest. The festival is slated to begin at the end of November and will be fueled by good vibes, good music, and good intentions, Google claims.

Good Fest is a collaboration between Google and global media brand and social impact company GOOD. It will consist of five concerts, all proceeds from which will go toward non-profit organizations chosen by the artists themselves.

English indie rock band Glass Animals will kick Good Fest off in New York. Glass Animals will play in the popular BAMcafé in Brooklyn on November 29, and their performance will be streamed live on YouTube. It will be followed by a Gogol Bordello gig in New Orleans on December 9, and a D.R.A.M. Gig in Seattle on December 12. The last two concerts and venues for them will be announced at a later date. You can sign up to be notified via email by following the link at the end of the article.

Google is also using the event to promote its new Pixel and Pixel XL Android flagships. Pixel phones will be used to shoot all backstage footage during the gigs and will be featured in promo materials during the events.
