Google introduced a personal home page for cellphones

Google announced the availability of a personal home page for mobile phone users in the United States. Just by clicking on their handsets browsers and then going to the Google specially-designed home page, customers will be able to do Web searches, check their Gmail e-mail, view news headlines, local weather reports, etc. The Google personalized home page is accessible for all mobile phones, supporting xHTML browser. Google is also in talks with mobile phone carriers and wireless equipment makers to install direct links to Google on the first screen the customers encounter when using their handsets. The access to the personalized home page is free of charge, although some wireless carriers may charge extra for using the Web.
