Google announces Drive update a bit early

0. phoneArena 06 Sep 2012, 21:47 posted on

It looks like someone over at Google was a bit premature on the "publish" button, because a blog post and subsequent tweet went out announcing an update to the Google Drive app, but the update wasn't quite ready to go...

google drive is awesome. I even upload entire movies to watch later on my devices, or click "share" and now my gf can watch the movie too!

The only thing missing was the ability to edit documents.

Love me some Google Drive!

Replaced Dropbox for me a few months ago... not because of anything except its integrated use with many of Google/Androids other functions/features/ability's

Those sound like frickin' awesome updates. I use Drive and my lapdock/Atrix to take notes in class, and Drive is the reason why I was able to update my resume last night instead of having to retype the whole damn thing from scratch as I submitted an application for a second job. (one retail job can't pay for bills and rent by itself, sadly).

One of the first complaints I had about Drive was not being able to create and move between folders. That made me switch to Dropbox. Now guess I'll have to switch back again.

Cool stuff. Nice to see Google Drive catching up to SkyDrive.*

* This is a typical statement you could expect to hear on WP articles. I know it is a very troll-ish statement, but I just want you guys to see what we normally have to deal with.

In all seriousness though, I do like Google Docs & Drive, so this is great for those who use the service.
