Google and LG officially announce the LG Nexus 4

The weather may have cancelled Google's event, but that doesn't mean that the announcement of the new Nexus device would be stopped. We're less than an hour away from Microsoft's own event, and Google and LG have officially announced the LG Nexus 4...

its no rumor. it has the pricing right on the google play store.. .300 and 350 for the 8 and 16 gig model.

That is waaay too nice to turn down, even if the camera isnt as nice as a samsung or sony.

The S4 is a whole different beast when compared to the Crapdragon S3

the Pro isn't crap but it's no 5250 either. even Matias Duarte said the only thing capable of powering the Nexus 10 was the 5250 but does it matter if you're getting a Pro for $350 off contract? even Galaxy Nexuses with OMAP4's were selling at the $350 off contract price point.

lol, I've been wondering where you've been Darac.

I've said this whole time that the Krait Quad Pro with Adreno 320 GPU is a very solid chip... which is the exact opposite of how I very vocally feel about the rest of the Krait/crapdragon line up.

Besides, at $350, how the hell do you say no?? I was ready to drop 650 on the note2 to get the hardware I wanted. Its the same class of hardware for half the price. Lets not forget to mention that my least favorite part of the Note2 was the size.. the N4 fixes that issue.

Its no Exynos 5 dual, but I might end up with a nexus10 shortly down the road as well, so I'll have an E5 anyways. :)

With the money I'm saving by not buying the Note2, I can literally buy both the N4 and N10. I'll sell my LG Gslate for close to 300 bux to some fool and get most of my money back. :)

We all know I'm a chip/tech snob from hell. There is just too much bang for buck for even me to turn my nose at. It may be missing an SD card and removable battery, but other than that, its a near perfect set up for a power user.. at half the cost of the ONLY competition in town at the ultra high end, the Note2.

Gonna miss the Note2's battery life potential though. That 3200mah battery sure got my attention.

I'll keep my 32GB GS3 with 32GB MicroSD thanks, once again i'll not be getting a Nexus phone, i dont get why Google skimp on mass storage.

This is a nice upgrade from the Galaxy Nexus though.

Stick to your S3 its a solid phone I'm upgrading from the S2 to this baby, I can't wait, hope they sell cases soon, would hate to drop it

to keep the pricing down.
They would flip the industry on its head and piss off a lot of partners if they offered a 64gb version for like $400. All that "50-100" per memory upgrade BS would start to fade away.. we cant have that now can we.

I'm more shocked that its so cheap.....$349.00 for a 16gb model....does anyone actually remember what the retail price to the first few nexus's where?($499.99-549.99) This is a dam good price!!!

No LTE?!? That is heartbreaking if true. I have been getting my hopes up for this device for a month but this makes it worthless on VZW and thus to me. Maybe LTE was a deal-breaker on offering it so cheap off contract.

Other than pure google what makes this so different than gs3 other than slight jump in processor. Almost identical in specs with gs3

It means things will just work, if they don't, they get updated, means smooth operations, reliabiy and peace of mind. I have owned about 30 Android phones and I have to say the GNexus phone is the first time I've ever had an almost completely satisfying Android phone that kept my interest for more than 3-6 months, except for the camera which did the job, but kept me wanting more. With other skinned Androids it's always been maybe the Bluetooth doesn't work correctly, Wi-Fi isn't that great or certain apps don't work on the phone, just little tiny things like on HTC 1X, if you set the phone to tell you not to notify you about Wi-Fi locations, it still does. The Bluetooth distance is also horrible, don't even get started on S3 TouchWiz. Just little things like that that are annoying with skinned phones, there's always something, even if it's tiny. With the Nexus it just seems like things just work and get addressed quickly. Also is very nice to not have to have carrier apps forced on you.

well no Nexus phone for me so i went ahead and got myself a Droid Razr MAXX HD and i'll probably get a Nexus 10 pretty soonish. my Razr M and Nexus 7 will get passed down to my mom and my dad will sell the Galaxy Nexus and put that cash towards getting either a Galaxy Note 10.1 or a Nexus 10 for himself.
