Last week, when owners of the Sprint branded HTC EVO 4G LTE were unable to access Google Wallet, the thought was that Google was getting back at Sprint for starting its Sprint Touch competition to Google Wallet...

Still doesn't work on mine either. I got one of the first ones off the boat after the initial delay, Google Wallet worked fine for a while. Initial loading said it was out of date and needed to be updated from Google Play, so I did that. It worked a few times after that. I think there was another update since then.

I tried clearing data.. I tried uninstalling updates (can't fully uninstall, it came pre-installed on the HTV EVO 4G LTE) and reinstalling. Still doesn't work.

So i don't know if it was one of the last updates or something server-side, but it doesn't seem like something that would be that difficult to fix even if it was a software or server issue. This has either gotta be some more complicated hardware quirk or some contract issue. If it were software or server, it shouldn't be too hard to tell the servers to allow Sprint USA customers and/or mod the app to send the right info to get approval from the servers.

I think since Sprint is coming out with there own payment app they deactivated the function to use Google wallet! That sucks!

That's been a theory, but I don't believe it. If anything, I think Sprint's payment app will just be Google Wallet with Sprint's name all over it. I don't think Sprint has the infrastructure (nor wants to create the infrastructure) to manage their own payment system....which is essentially as complicated (with security and such) as Paypal.

Thats true... i dont think they want to deal with all that hassle... I been with sprint for a long time and i know they will come through...
