Google Keep launches to take on Evernote

0. phoneArena posted on 20 Mar 2013, 16:32

The leak was telling it seems, because Google has officially launched Google Keep, which is a note-taking service that looks to compete with apps like Evernote. Google Keep will be available on Android 4.0+ devices and of course it will have a web app as well. The Android app actually looks quite a bit like another Android app called ColorNote...

I really like the interface on this, very simple and clean. I like you can share a link/photo etc to it as well and save it in a note but wish you could add multiple photos to a single note instead of sharing a single one to it or taking a pic to add it each time. Still best note taking app i've used either way.

Have you used Evernote, which can store multiple pics in a note?

OR, you just stay with the best note app (Evernote) on the market and skip the data mining.

Do you honestly think Evernote gives away their services for free?

No matter what application you are using, or have used, they are data mining you.

Evernote gives a lot of functionality for its free service. If you want to share (like with a workgroup or classroom), there's a charge.

As for data mining, I haven't seen any evidence of them doing so, so what makes you say that? We know Google will.

Sooooo, google kills reader for this? Evernote works just fine el goog. Stay the execution of reader if this is the best you have to offer.

Reader has been on its way out for years, and there are plenty of alternatives. I'd rather see Google kill Reader and put effort into other products instead of keeping Reader and never putting any effort into it at all.

Why'd they use the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for the commercial and not the LG Nexus 4

It is way too different to evernote. This should a competition with memo+to do list application like color note. Drive has more same function to evernote

As long as this Google app takes much less memory than Evernote.

Well since Evernote did not deem it necessary to tell us they were hacked! I un-installed that App. This is a nice clean looking App. I will give it a try to see if it is worth keeping.

While Keep is a fun and cute app, it is not aimed at Evernote, which is a powerhouse product with vast user resources and true productivity design and function

evernote is more like a digital diary to me than a task list manager.google keep seems to be a clean and simple alternative for daily stuff.
