As if to confirm how important is the mobile partnership with the Koreans for Google, CEO Larry Page flew over recently, and, besides paying a social visit to the country's president, he met Samsung’s Vice Chairman and potential heir, Lee Jay-yong, as well as with Koo Bon-joon, LG Electronics Vice Chairman...

Maybe Google realizes that they can't put all their eggs (advertising/R&D) in one basket (Motorola), & know the more OEM's selling big is good for them. Advanced thinking in case Samsung decides to push Tizen. Motorola doesn't become overly viable. HTC can't get pass one update in 18 months on flagship devices. Etc.
