Glasses-free 3D on cell phones? LG has a 4.3 inch touchscreen for it!
Share:
LG rides high the 3D wave with its newly announced glasses-free 3D displays for mobile devices. Expect to see “smoother, wider angle parallax 3D” 4.3-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Yes, you can touch 3D now, pretty awesome, right?
The company with the smiling face promises “exceptionally bright and flicker-free images” along with wider viewing angles than in previous parallax displays. Sounds good, but to find out if the press release matches reality stay tuned as we will check these claims soon. The display uses applied parallax barrier technology to create an illusion of depth. The effect is due to series of “light-blocking slits [or barriers] attached to the front of the LCD panel”.

Some technology does and some doesnt. I think in a couple years people will get tired of it like they did in the late 70s and early 80s..

We want brighter screens..
The tech is to put light blocking slits? By default we will have to Jack up screen intensity and further drain the batteries. Crap idea

Wow. The HTC Thunderbolt could've had something special like this - Then the hype would've been worth it...
