Sufficient hardware for the software. I don't want to start a flame war but it is evident that even up to the Galaxy S3 (interntational version) which I currently own, Android phones just weren't as lag free and as smooth as the iPhone 4s and iPhone 5. Of course they both had their lags but i can in a non bias manner say that the iPhone experience is more pleasant due to its speed. However, with the introduction of these superphones with quad core processors, the problem has virtually disappeared. I have to give it to Apple. They really know how to make the right software at the right time for consumers but I love how many things you can do with Android and I am glad the hardware has finally caught up to the software capabilities.
All in all, hardware sufficient enough for the software ex(iPhone 5, Note II, and HTC DNA) is the most important feature to me.

Ouch. iPhone contest just pulled ahead by 50 comments. That's got to sting a little.

The most important smartphone feature for me is screen size and resolution. I love watching movies and playing games on the go and the better the size and resolution, the more enjoyable that time is.

Software & its performance. A phone can have ICS or JB on board, but just how much ICS or JB I'm getting pretty much determines how I feel the phone will perform for me in the long run.

When buying a smartphone the feature that means the most to me is the screen. I'm being very generic because there are 2 aspects of the screen I look for which are size and quality. I need a nice big screen to be able to view whats going on whether its watching netflix, youtube or going through my facebook stream, I'm kind of on the blind side. I also need a screen with great viewing quality because I hate seeing my pictures of words distorted because of a screen that can't handle high resolution photos, videos, or text.

My most important feature is a big HD screen

I like the side-sliding QWERTY keyboard of the Motorola Photon Q. Motorola screwed me & their customers over with the original Photon, by looking the bootloader & then not updating to ice cream sandwich. The only way I'm getting this phone is for free.... cause I'm not paying for another Motorola phone again!

With our first child on the way (next week!), the camera is the most important thing to me right now. I despise carrying multiple devices -- I need everything all in one! Durability and OS stability are big points for me also!

I think there are 3 valuable features on a phone:
1. Phone Storage
2. Screen Size
3. Battery Life
What good is a phone if you dont have enough storage? As we all know nowadays we all have our favorites apps we like to use and download to our phones to inhance them, but how can we do that if we dont have enough phone storage for all these great apps. I know many of us have gotten that disappointing triangle with the exclamation point in the middle or no matter how many apps you delete to make more phone storage there still isn't enough! Many times we have to sacrifice between apps to say goodbye to just so we can have some space in our phone.
As I also mention screen size is another great feature to a phone. But why? What good is a phone if you can't even see the words, type, watch videos, or skype as we all like to do every now and then. Sometimes it hard to things with those small screen, i know someone has seen a person with their phone almost as close to their nose to see the words on the screen. Although it's funny seeing those people walking aroung like that its no fun if its yourself trying to strain to see even a word.
Even though its sad to say people in today's society actually LIVE on their phones, being on it everywhere they go (i.e. church, work, class, and even the bathroom). Seeing as we always have our phones in hand everywhere we go it has to have a good battery life to withstand til we have the time to charge it again . Some batteries die within the hour after charging it. What good is a phone if we can even use it because it went dead while using it?

I hate having to keep a separate nav system, so its really important to me that the navigation is excellent on my phone (and it has been on the android devices I've used!).

Memory. One of the main components. With lack of it, all your getting for Xmas is more "Gingerbread" (system crashes).
lol

The most valuable feature of a phone are three. First is the Size of The screen it needs to fit my hands, second is the Storage and battery life especially battery life cause I put my phones to test LOL & last but most definitely not least is the Camera/Video , it meets to have a very high quality camera. :) so put of those three phones I think I would love to have is OPTIMUS G it's a heck of a phone :), I wish luck to everybody and including me LOL

I don't have one favorite part I have many! I love a large screen with clear display! Wearing glasses and having a small screen is BAD combo! I love a fast processor. With the phone I have now I'll be thirty by time I get something download! I absolutely love a good camera especially if there's a frontal view camera. I love to take pictures (not just of myself either) and having the perfect camera on a phone allows me to capture moments in an instant. Phones have come a very long way, SERIOUSLY!

I can go on forever to explain what I look for in a smartphone but I mostly just focus on 3 main things, which are..
•Size of the phone
•Storage & Battery Life
•High quality Camera/Video
Those are the 3 main features that are most important for me and I feel that's the OPTIMUS G has all those features, all the other phones are still awesome but I feel like the optimus is more advanced :D lol

The touchscreen. This is where all interactions begin and end. If it goes, it doesn't matter if the device still powers on, makes calls, can browse the internet, or multi-task.

The names of the "winners" are suspiciously similar. Is PhoneArena "gives away" all these phones to the same person?

Processor speed/RAM, no one wants a laggy smartphone.
478. sagadgreat posted on 18 Dec 2012, 09:43 0
To be honest, the most important feature to me is how long will this phone last with all of the new updates that are being made to current operating systems. With most of my phones being purchased through a carrier contract process, I need to know that my phone can at least move into the next if not the following two iterations of Android dessert goodness (whether through manufacturer updates or rooting ; ) ) so that I am not dissapointed at the end of life when everyone else is getting to enjoy all of the cool new features available to them. Personally I can't afford to pay full out for the latest gadgets, so I always end up with an obsolete phone when it's time to renew. Having Quad core processors and updgraded ram, features that are far beyond what current offerings are providing, is a definite plus. I am currently on an EVO Shift if that gives you any indication of the pain I am feeling from the lack of being able to use all of the features that Jellybean has to offer as well as the upcoming Key Lime Pie. Oh well, antoher year may not be too bad.....hopefully!
