I've broken more phones than I wish I did!
At the end of 2010, I got a new Samsung Captivate from AT&T. This was my first smartphone. Two months later, I broke it because it dropped 2 feet in a school-type binder!
Okay, so then in March, I used someone else's upgrade on my family account to get the 2-year contract price for a new Motorola Atrix 4G from BestBuy. I ended up dropping that on a concrete floor, and the screen pixels wouldn't light, but it responded tio touch for half an hour. Then it was dead. Good thing I bought the $5 monthly insurance plan from BestBuy! I got a new Motorola Atrix 4G (no deductable :-), and happily walked out of the store with a new working phone. At the end of August 2011, it had a software bug while changing wallpapers, and froze. Good thing I still had the BestBuy $5 montly insurance! When I went in to the BestBuy to get a new atrix, they said they had no more, and had to give me a "comparable model". I ended up with the HTC Inspire 4G. Everyone here knows the Inspire an =d Atrix are completely different! After a while, in June of 2012, I decided that I wanted to fix the screen on the Samsung Captivate, which I had held on to this whole time. I went to a locally owned Tech shop, and they said they would fix the screen for $130. If I had known about the Werx Android Smartphone Screen Replacement kit, I would have saved $30 (or more) and my time from going to the Tech shop!
Moral of the story is: Don't drop your smartphone, but if you do, use Werx!
P.S: I know more people than I wish that have iPhones, so they can have the screen package from me as a gift!

Have you ever broken the screen of your phone and what did you do to fix it?

I went to a local mall where they offered the service of replacing my iPhone screen for $100 because Sprint and Apple told me that they would not cover the broken screen.

My first blackberry tour had it's screen shatter for no reason. 2 days after upgrading to the phone, I was driving with it in my pocket and it went. I didn't know what to do and I realized I didn't purchase insurance for it. I had to go back to verizon and swap for a new one for 50 dollars. Not a good day.

In all my years, I've never broken a single screen to this day (I'm probably going to jinx myself with this post). I always place my phone in a sturdy case and screen protector from day 1. Apart from that, however, I did "baptize" a slider once (literally), but it resurrected on the third day, only to die for good a year later.

I have broken my HTC Thunderbolt screen. It's the only phone I didn't sell and it's sitting here as a remote camera to watch my dog when I'm not home. :-) But recently I watched some videos replacing screens and I want to find a reliable source and get a screen from them. I compared a few websites, but didn't order yet.

I have broken the screen on my phone twice. Just recently had the screen of my iPhone 4S broken. I guess that counts as 3 times. I got the 2 problems before fixed by buying a new phone and the second time fixing the screen myself. I havent got around fixing the iPhone myself because i want to avoid damaging the inside.

I busted my HTC Inspire's screen with an Otterbox Defender case on it by tossing it over my shoulder and having it shatter on a plastic tag to demonstrate to a customer why they need a case (screen crackage was not intended, 2 guesses on whether or not the guy got the case :P)

I kept it in its box for about a month waiting to get the cash together to purchace a new screen when luck would have it, a customer with an upgrade ready had a red Inspire that was busted but had its screen intact! About an hour or so later I had my good ol' Inspire back up and running as good as new! Bonus as its now a combo red and brownish-grey Inspire and looks cooler in my opinion

moral of the story, forget warranties: fix it yourself!

I had a LG Voyager and the clamshell hinge of the phone broke, so technically the screen was broken. Since the front of the screen worked perfectly fine, I just kept it together using a rubber band.

I used to have an Iphone 3G a year or two back and the way I broke that screen was when I was going to use the bathroom. I had it plugged in because it was going to die and when I sat down, the phone slipped out of my hand and swung right into the door! The screen cracked very badly and the only thing I could think of to fix it was to put some clear box tape over it so that I wont cut myself on the parts of the screen that were sticking up lol.

I had my HTC Evo for over a year with a screen protector on it and a body glove cover on it. One day I decided to take it off and the screen protector came off also. While i was driving somewhere I sad it in my lap and for got about it and when I went to get out of the car it fell on it's face and cracked. It had craked so bad that I almost couldn't use it because it was starting to cut the tips of my fingers so I put another screen protector over it to make it usuable for the time being. I never did get the screen fixed.
