Gates start to open up for the HTC EVO 4G's Android 2.2 Froyo update
In a similar atmosphere where children eagerly stay up all night to catch a glimpse of Santa strolling down the chimney with gifts in tow, there are probably a handful of HTC EVO 4G owners out there forgoing some much needed sleep to wait patiently for that sole notification to pop up. From the sound of it all, there are some lucky owners already being graced with the Android 2.2 Froyo update slightly before its official roll out. However, we'd imagine that by the time tomorrow rolls along, we're pretty confident that a majority of people will be singing soulfully thanks to the tunes from Froyo. If sleep doesn't stand high on your list tonight, then you can probably just stay up to ring in the good news of Froyo being released. In any event, it's really nice to see the first 4G smartphone in the US being treated to such a prestigious event – especially when other Android handsets have tried to challenge its aura.

Just D/L it. I must say i never thought this phone could get any faster, 1. Had to reinstall swype, because it had a couple tweeks, but works perfectly now. 2. It took me about 40 min to install (froyo) because i did it OTA, but maybe it was just my evo, yours might be faster. 3. Installing apps to sd card is quick and easy 4. The 720p video recording looks much sharper and you can now use your flash while recording 5. The flashlight app is nice. 6. Flash 10.1 is just plain stunning. 7. I live in chicago, so i have 4g, and its really really faster than 3g. 8. Its just too much damn stuff to name............ It might not seem like theres alot of changes, but trust me there is. Im still playing around with it, so im sure i havent found out everything about froyo yet. I was seriously thinking about getting the epic 4g, but this has def changed my mind. Sprint has been on a roll lately, i honestly thought i was going to have to wait a long time like i did with my old hero. Thank you google for the Frozen Yogurt. I dont know where would i be without android.
