GameStop testing sales of Android tablets in 200 stores
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that during this holiday season, retailer GameStop will put specialized Android tablets in 200 stores to see how well they sell. The tablets, made by Asus, Acer and Samsung, will each come with seven free games including EA's "Dead Space", and will be offered at the same price you would see at other stores. Although the tablets will support GameStop's new controller out of the box, it must be purchased separately at the store.

Last month, we reported that GameStop was planning on offering its own Android tablets to sell in its stores. Besides offering pre-installed games, console quality content would be streamed from the cloud using the controller. The idea behind adding the tablets in its stores is to sell more gaming devices to complement the individual games that it sells.

anyyy 7 games? o.O
probably not as that would diminish the deal's value to the store. probably used games but that's still a pretty good deal. (:

I could see someone saying "free 7 games? Ok I will have MW3, Skyrim, Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Diablo 3, Assassin's Creed Revelations, and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword." lol

i can't even think of 7 games i want right now. xD
MW3, Halo: CEA, FFXIII-2 & The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword are the only ones i would legitly want. i'd have to settle for some different ones like maybe Dance Central 2.

I have Skyrim already paid off and will be at their midnight release. HOWEVER I refused to spend an extra 90 dollars just to get an artbook, making of dvd, map, and dragon statue. As cool as it looked, NOT worth nearly 100 more dollars. No DLC, NO THANKS!

yeah, those things are really bad deals. i'll probably get the special editon of MW3 though because you'll get CoD: Elite with it and that grantees you DLC and this game will probably be so popular that they'll blast out DLC every other week so damn good investment. (:

I will pay 20 bucks more for exlusive preorder/collectors edition DLC. Things like exclusive weapons, armor, side quests, playable characters, etc. However if it doesnt actually affect my game then it's a complete rip off.

I can't wait for Mass Effect 3. Collectors Edition comes with exclusive weapons, armor, and a in game robot dog pet for your ship. You only have to pay 80 dollars compared to the freaking 150 for Skyrim's. No way.

FFvsXIII will be on phones and tablets? Man I cant see myself playing a hard core action-rpg on a phone or tablet to be honest...

If you havent seen FFvsXIII you should check it out on youtube. It looks TITS!

Unlike your posts Miz, there are plenty of points.

To get gamers to buy tablets and to get free games.
Gamestop also sells used iphone's and ipod's as well. Why? Because they can.

I assume you all are joking. The 7 free games will be android games for the tablet, not games for the PS3 or 360.

this is Game Stop why wouldn't they be? i don't exactly go into Game Stop to get at any Android Tablets but i do go in there to get games for my consoles so why not offer an initiative that helps you do that and take home an Android Tablet? not saying you're wrong, you may very well be right i'm just showing you our line of thinking.
