I love gadgets and machines! and I already forgot about my toys since I turned 16..

6. tahnik posted on 02 Jul 2012, 07:58 6 3

You are so jealous...Apple have over 2,5000 apps just for tablet....and they are toy right?
All three of them have there advantages....All of them are primes...

18. tuneslover posted on 02 Jul 2012, 08:47 6 3

But how many of them serve business people, designers, engineers, programmers, animator, artists, doctors? You know....you still need a MacBook to develop software for an iPad but Windows itself is the world's most powerful platform.

So iOS is really a tiny little girl's toy to Windows.

"...you still need a MacBook to develop software for an iPad..."

No, you don't. :)

31. tegradragon posted on 02 Jul 2012, 10:24 3 4

Yes, you do.

32. PhoneArenaUser posted on 02 Jul 2012, 10:49 3 2

Can you prove your statement?
Because I can prove my statement! :)

51. tegradragon posted on 03 Jul 2012, 04:37 2 1

I guess you can DEVELOP apps on other operating systems but there's no way you can publish it on the App Store. You need OSX for that.
Unless you hack something.

52. PhoneArenaUser posted on 03 Jul 2012, 05:49

But we were talking about development and it is POSSIBLE!

"...but there's no way you can publish it on the App Store."

I don't know about that much, but I think it is possible to.

53. tegradragon posted on 03 Jul 2012, 07:27

No there's no legal way of publishing apps on the AppStore. Positive about that.

10. sorcio46 posted on 02 Jul 2012, 08:10 8 1

Windows Surface with Intel CPU for productivity and programming.

Apple iPad for Photo viewing and basic gaming (i cannot use a joystick so i don't play serious game with this such as GTA3/Max Payne/Shadowgun).

Asus Nexus 7 for everything else. And has the best price/performance-features compared to the other two. And also has build in the most advanced Mobile OS.

11. PhoneArenaUser posted on 02 Jul 2012, 08:13 1 1

Well said. :)

14. Ray.S posted on 02 Jul 2012, 08:22 1

I think that "most advanced" is a very flexible term when it comes to a mobile OS.

25. sorcio46 posted on 02 Jul 2012, 09:19 4 1

Just bend it to the pure number of features, you will see that Android is at the top, thanks to the ultimate personalization level.

17. Darkerm posted on 02 Jul 2012, 08:42 1 2

Thumbs up for a great comment dude ;)
Yeah, Android is the most Advance Mobile OS and Nexus 7 has 4.1. most of all its cheap but heavy with Features.
I am an Android user (Xperia Neo 4.0.4) and I love everything about Android. So, Nexus 7 is the one I need.
BTW, I have PC for window so no need for a Windows Tab and I don't like Apple at all.

37. haseebzahid posted on 02 Jul 2012, 10:59 1 1

well gaming is still better for surface imagine running call of duty black ops2, crysis3, any other PC comes to mind wht else is better .........hmm what angry birds yes limited but still fun.yet cannot match the full HD game of PC

45. bayusuputra posted on 03 Jul 2012, 02:09

I would do basic gaming with the Nexus 7 and heavy gaming with the Surface Pro.. I want both of them!

that leaves the iPad nowhere in my "wants" list..

I always get bored with iPad.. don't know why..

15. Gemmol posted on 02 Jul 2012, 08:29 1 2

Imma get bash for this, since people do not like opinions, but if I could only choose one I would go with the Microsoft Tablet because it do more then the others, if they can have all the apps the ipad have, there would be no competition.....but if I was a rich person and I could afford all 3 I would not buy the Nexus tablet, it is a waste, I rather get a Galaxy Note or Galaxy Note 2 and then get the ipad since it have more apps then the all the stores, plus you can do more with it (please do not be ignorant guys we all know theres plenty of apps that are not on the android store that is pretty cool) and then get the windows tablet because it is actually a computer on the go.....if you have a galaxy note the nexus is not needed honestly that tablet is a waste of money....google need to work on making more tablet apps for their store, I just do not think any android tablet is useful, when it use regular phone apps....I have a galaxy note and I am not saying all apps are phone apps because from using my galaxy note I actually get to see the different interface tablet apps have from the phone apps, but theres still not enough tablet app and developers seem to work harder and faster in turning their IOS apps into tablet apps at a faster rate then android....but I wonder who fault is that

24. Nocturne posted on 02 Jul 2012, 09:17 2 2

Seems like you're a bit misinformed, will try shed some light.

In regards to Android the vast majority of apps work on both tablets and phones since ICS unified the two.

Therefore any issues with app the amount of apps available to Android tablets is just plain wrong, virtually anything all apps are available to both.

This also means that there are more apps available for Android tablets running ICS than their are for any iPad.

I have a laptop with windows 8 for Windows experience, an SGS with ICS for Android experience and an Ipod touch with 5.0 for iOS experience.

Yet if I had to get a tablet it would be a choice between the Surface and the Nexus ( or ideally the Note 10.1).

Why?
iOS is too limited and restrictive, it doesn't have a file manager, very limited blue tooth capabilities, virtually no customization, all this makes the current iPad just an overall mediocre piece of tech, apart from its screen.

This is also just an opinion and some will agree, while others wont, and that is perfectly fine:)

26. Gemmol posted on 02 Jul 2012, 09:41 1 3

Not every phone have ICS and not my Galaxy Note, well not yet, but I understand what your saying, and my Galaxy Note do not have problem with the apps in the App store, where I was getting at is that theres not much Tablet Specific apps, just recently google plus did a update which bring tablet specific stuff and guess what instead of my galaxy note using the regular google plus it change to the tablet version.....all i am saying there is not much tablet specific apps....every other app work on my phone without ICS.....this what makes Galaxy Note best Tablet/Phone....so I didnt really need ICS for the unified experience......but all I am saying theres not much tablet specific app and with ICS all the apps will do is make regular app work on a tablet without any tablet specific features, which make tablets for android look weak again.....I like looking at my Galaxy Note and seeing tablet specific apps, it look nice on my phone, if they can bring more tablet specific apps then android will be worth a purchase but for right now....no android table is worth it

16. Darkerm posted on 02 Jul 2012, 08:35 1

I'll take Nexus 7. I am a user of Xperia Neo (4.0.4) and with Nexus 7 I can share my wifi from my neo cuz there is no Wifi in my Area also for gaming. there will be a lot of games for this one and most of my favorite game will be optimize :D
most of all its cheap and I love Android ;)

19. tuneslover posted on 02 Jul 2012, 08:50 1 2

You wouldn't if you ever used iOS phone (iPhone) or Windows Phone.

46. bayusuputra posted on 03 Jul 2012, 02:14 1

I have a lot of iOS experience, and i will still choose the Nexus 7 and the Surface (Pro).. I will never buy an iPad..

20. tuneslover posted on 02 Jul 2012, 08:54 2 1

I want a Surface Pro with Core i7 as my Laptop replacement (and also iPad replacement).

22. primarchlion posted on 02 Jul 2012, 08:55 1

Umm... One dollar Bob.

23. good2great posted on 02 Jul 2012, 09:12 4 3

dont be haters guys...

the iPad is clearly the leader and best choice here... far from a toy... the majority of the apps are business and productivity related. (if you had an ipad you would know that)

the Nexus 7 seems more like a kindle fire (nothing wrong with that)

the surface is a good choice as well but we still dont know what its fully capable of... its my #2 choice...

39. remixfa posted on 02 Jul 2012, 12:03 1 1

in what way does a nexus 7 seem like a kindle fire other than the same 7 inch screen size?

the nexus7 is a middle/high end quad core tablet with Android 4.1 and updates straight from google the moment they are available. Unlike the kindle, it is not modded (though it is easily modded, lol), uses official google software suites, has a much nicer and higher res screen and is more bang for the buck than pretty much every other tablet on the market.

In order to make it perfect though, it needs to have a version in the 9/10 inch range, with HDMI out and an SD card slot.. and like $300 bux :) That would be great. Think of the pressure that would put on the industry to reduce pricing if/when it became a hot seller.

the majority of people that use an ipad use it to read the news/media, and play games. its the most sold because it normally is built well, its simple, and it has a hell of a marketing team behind it.

47. bayusuputra posted on 03 Jul 2012, 02:16 1

what? kindle? more like a mini version of transformer prime, dude.. but most people using iPad for angry birds and cut the rope..

27. ThePolak posted on 02 Jul 2012, 09:56

Still waiting for Nexus 10, 7 inch is way not enough screen space for me. Gimme Nexus 10 with the same specs as Nexus 7 and I'll take it without any doubts.

what OS will work the as a tablet and a PC ??

this issue is microsoft is the sole winner in this category

main issue is the fuctionality

end of argument ....

if u have money go for IPAD
go for nexus 7 the more cheaper
but something that you do more what the IPAD and nexus cant..... go for surface

ill buy the windows 8 pro honestly but not microsoft branded ill wait for samsung or ASUS maybe ....

30. vslayer posted on 02 Jul 2012, 10:04

the issue is many of us dont open our minds ...... ive been optimistic in the windows 8 platffrm im not a MS fanatic but im aware of what WINDOWS can do.... i smell a tough competition here...
