that puts it in direct competition with the Fire. Guess Samsung really wants to fight for their market share back. Good. Hell, for 50 bux more I'd definitely pick up the tab2 7.0 over the fire.

yeah, even if you're primarily in need of an e-reader this is a better buy.

The transformer prime is the same as the first Motorola xoom, with updated specs. Samsung makes nice stuff.

Man I'm thinking the same thing! Apple keeps giving us small incremental updates, samsung tablets don't seem to have staying power since whenever one is released its just months before the next update is announced, then again this is a problem for the entire android tablet ecosystem as a whole, moto doesn't seem to give prompt support and updates, asus tabs are not that attractive to me, and and ive never trusted Sony for updates. And ill ignore the slew of cheap gingerbread tabs with missing features- which includes the kindle fire. Oh and windows 8 tabs are still a ways off not to mention truly untested (although I did like the demo unit I tried in an Ms store) and who knows if the specs and aesthetics will match.

I picked one up from best buy yesterday. For $250, it's a great price point. The screen is nice and everything runs smoothly without lag. Hardware specs aside, it works, and it's cheap. If you're looking for a 7" tablet take a look. Plus it has ICS, real android not whatever the kindle fire/nook tablet have. I couldn't justify spending more $ on what is basically a toy for me, so $250 was a good price point for me, it didn't hurt that I had some unused best buy gift cards lying around.
