Hopefully it will become more resistant to photographs. Reviews showed it's extremely fast and if it becomes secure, it will completely mitigate the issue of fingerprint scanner.

Downside to facial recognition tech is that the phone needs to be lifted each time for unlocking. Plus it won't work once it's dark.

You can use the other methods then I guess. I would have used it optimally depending on the conditionally if I got it.

Samsung really screwed bad with an almost perfect smartphone. Bad FP scanner and battery life ruined the phone for me.

The saddest part is that Note 8 is ruined as well. It will have the same small battery and the same processors.

My friend already owns it for about a week and he claims battery life is at least 10-20% better than 7edge

He probably had the Snapdragon S7 edge. The battery is weaker than the Exynos S7 edge.

Also another fact to consider is that his S7 edge wasn't performing as good as it did brand new since batteries degrade upto 20% each year or so. 10-20% better than a degraded S7 edge isn't much.

Really true.. Battery life is actually worse than it's predecessors. And FP could've been placed in a reachable spot instead.
Perfect phone would've been in our hands already.

The battery life is great just take phone arena battery life tests with a grain of salt.

I'm not even looking at PA battery test. But all other tests show it to be worse than the S7/edge. GSMArena as well as Ars's tests show it to do significantly worse than S7 edge.

This is mostly due to the higher voltage bins due to immature 10nm process. This is going to end bad.

Are they significantly better than every other SD820 phone? Yes.
Does that make them phones with good battery life? No.

No you dont need to lift it, it can also work in an angle. When you first register your face, do it from different angles.
