With the Galaxy S4, analysts believe that Samsung was "taking its last steps in Apple’s shadow", hinting that what started as a direct response to Cupertino's smartphone success, the Galaxy S line, will get a complete revamp in the 5th edition next year. One of the big changes Samsung was claimed to introduce is a radical departure from the plastic builds to premium look and feel, involving metal casings, and there is even a whole project in the conglomerate, dubbed Design 3.0, that revolves around decisions on the next flagships exterior...

Just one more rumor about metal body before Samsung's flagship announcement. Like the flexible screen one.

Now this is interesting, I would consider buying Samsung phones if their materials are premium, bring it on Samsung!

Very interesting, but there is no metal SGS4 or Note 3. Even if TaipeiTimes has some kind of prototipe - it's not a final device. I'm waiting for more reliable information.

Dont care much for metal body, i'ld rather they spend their resources on trying to redesign Touchwiz and polish the experience of using a Samsung.

Coming from someone who passed on the GS4 because it was almost identical to the GS3 and having the htc one now makes me realize how Sammy needs to step it up if they want to be considered the face of Android. Even the iPhone 5c feels less more solid and durable then the latest Sammy and LG offerings. I'm not an iPhone at all but even when they make a plastic version of the 5 it's built better than the GS4. Love my One

The first iPhone was aluminum. But yeah, iPhone has been plastic before, 3g and 3gs.

That's what I was saying till I activated a few for my customers and apple managed to actually make the 5c a sturdy phone. I was surprised when I actually got to play with one as a Verizon rep. Now if Apple could only manufacture phones or something that goes into their products in the US.

2014 will be pretty epic for smartphones. A metal Samsung Galaxy S5, and most likely a bigger screen Apple iPhone 6. Both features fans of each have long been longing for. Who knows what else, maybe a octa-core, flexible screen, 64-bit S5 and a quad-core, 2GB-3GB RAM, NFC iPhone 6.

Expandable memory, bluetooth file sharing and nfc are some things you should not hope to see in an iPhone as yet.

Great... The phone in the pic still looks lovely as I was hoping this as S4, though it might come as S5 or something else can't say right now.

2014 the most innovative smartphone industry year since the first iphone release. and i mean for all companies. Imagine sony xperia z2 (which in my opinion it's going to be the first well made sony smartphone), galaxy s5 with flexible screen 64 bit chip with compatible apps and metal (magnezium/aluminium) body and probably a new and refined touchwiz, an epic iphone 6 with 4,3-4,5 inch displays, htc one next gen, MOTOROLA MOTO X 2 perhaps available worldwide, windows phone 8,1 smartphones with quadcores made by microsoft&nokia. 2014..EPIC!!!

Note 3 showed that Sammy's starting to have a futuristic view for the design of its new products.
Hope to see some good and beautiful products next year.

Note 3 is a bigger S2 I don't think it's futuristic.

Its design is way better than S4 and also its beautiful back cover shows some signs of change in Sammy's design language.

If this means I can't change my own stinking batteries, then there's no chance of me getting that phone. I hate planned obsolescence guised as "design".

I'm with you 100%! If Sammy makes the S5 with no removable battery and/or no expandable memory, I'm out. Personally I will never understand what all the crying about what the phone is made out of because I never take the case off my phone anyway...
