Galaxy S5 scores amazing on our battery life test: the longest-lasting flagship has the endurance of a tablet

Are you sitting down? You'd better be, as we have a new king of our battery life test, and it is none other than Samsung's Galaxy S5. It managed the whopping 8 hours and 14 minutes of screen-on time in our grueling battery endurance run, which is the best result we've seen so far from any flagship...

Different from gsmarena test..........It's really good, but not that miraculous device. The same for HTC One M8.

As always, You get 8 hours on screen time, but still it lasts only a day and half with huge batteries. lousy standby time a Lumia 1020 or an IOS device will last a week on standby with half the maH batteries. I don't know any Android that does beyond a week on standby time BTW I have a Lumia 610 with me, It goes a month on standby with wifi always on. I don't think any smart phone can beat it.

Samsung is cheating as usual with a fake HD pentile displa in battery tests. And PA overlooked that as usual. It's funny.

Hahahahaha. Life is hard. So hard that samsung eats all your market share and the companies you love, the true companies that build em like the good old days get sold or bankrupt. This is funny.

Lol, he's just fired up, wherever you go or read people praise the S5, he found it so hard he went into a laughable hysteria and unleashed hilarious comments.

Although I just got my s5 yesterday and I have not had much time to use it, the rate that the battery drains is exceptionally slow. I can't say how true this study is, but my personal experience has been astounding. The s5 also has a special charger. My phone charged from 68% to 100% in about 30 minutes.

just got S5 last night. Amazing battery life. I took so many videos and photos during one straight hour, 5 shorter phone calls, Mobile data constantly on. Watched all the videos and photos few times. Surfed the web, downloaded and installed bunch of apps. Battery is at 77% after 4-1/2h.

i'm supper happy.

I'm not a big fan of plugging it to charge. It takes extra effort to aim at USB3.0 connector. But i guess its necessary for offloading 4k videos.

I find it funny how the trolls come strolling along with their little convenience anecdotes and experiences with the S5 or comparative to the phone itself just to make a point that the article is invalid.

This is actually kinda funny, When s5 has better batterytime in PH's own Scripted test you question it directly cause samsung can't be better at anything but when HTC, LG or anyother brand has a good time you don't even care to take it into question.

There is alot of hate built up against samsung :p. Imo as long as any battery on a phone lasts 2x longer than my Z1 i Would be extremely happy. On their test it only lasts 4h but i'm not complaining since i could easily go full usage and still have 20% left after a full day out.

I really wish that samsung will include lucidlogic's algorithm in an update for the note 3. It is possible to do so right?

so why holding back, if you can still pack 3000mah in or more, plus the battery algorithms, would last even longer right

This is a big bummer! They didn't have tests for the Nokia Lumia 1520 nor the LG G Flex which scored great on GSMArena's battery endurance test. What a very biased review.

The Note 3 is still a flagship. Its in a league of its own. The Oppo Find7, Z2 and Razr are the only phones that can even compete. People shouldn't be talking crap about Samsung. When you have a processor with a higher clock speed than the computer that you are using right now, you have to cut a few corners to keep it at a reasonable price. I do have a Note 3, and I wish it had more premium materials, but with such amazing performance you can't realalisticly make a phone that has all the premium materials and is consumer affordable. Yes, the M8 is the best build phone out there, and has pretty good specs, but look at the camera. Look at the battery. You just simply can't find a phone with the absolute best specs and a good build.
