The Galaxy S4 doesn't have the advanced optical image stabilization of some smartphones like the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One, but it does have some form of digital image stabilization...

Very poor quality, samsung galaxy s4 is a piece of crap.
Why is this guy and all the samsung fans wearing Lady's shirts ?

If you set all bias aside and look at software + hardware, you would know the Galaxy S4 is one of the best devices in the world.
If you want to troll, go troll another website. Thanks.

There hipsters that will go against anything popular. Literally the only thing they can say about the s4 is that it has back plate made out of polycarb. Thats about equal to saying the HTC One has a button made out of plastic (very very low quality plastic)

Samsung fans still rooting for the digital stabilizers. The HTC One and Nokia Lumia 92X must be laughing right now.
13. _Bone_ (Posts: 2104; Member since: 29 Oct 2012)
HTC and Nokia are laughing, Samsung is selling.

Also, Hyundai sells more cars than Ferrari and Porsche.
16. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Hyundai's cars are about 8 to 10 times cheaper than Ferrari and Porsche 's.
Flawed comparison, try again.. =]

You're right, so according to the results of this video also samsung devices should be 8 to 10 times cheaper.
26. Oxygen (Posts: 79; Member since: 29 Mar 2012)
First of all, these are smartphones not cameras. You do know that the s4 takes better pictures than the htc one and the lumia 920 in most cases, right?
19. _Bone_ (Posts: 2104; Member since: 29 Oct 2012)
Ferrari sales aren't affected by Hyundai, genius. HTC and Nokia could sell 10M of their flagship a month, only they can't and you know why?
... exactly. Because while they are laughing, Samsung is selling. Wasn't that hard to figure it out, was it Mr. bring a failed argument fella.

True but I think out of the 3 Samsung is the happy... They are laughing to the bank as for htc and Nokia hmm.. As for what's the best phone well the depends on the individual.. I like the s4 for its 5" screen and removable sd and my brother has the htc one for aluminium build...They are both great phones, can't say much about the lumia as I have never seen
One used one but have use windows and for me it's to restrictive just like how ios is.. I have always like symbian so android was the logical destination for me.. End of the day there are plenty of great phones out the.. Just pick what fits our need and don't see the point of bashing others just cause they prefer something else..

oh yeah, the S4 has a form of video stabilization, not as good as the One or the Lumia but we're gonna dedicate a whole post to it anyway...*face palm*

here's a more intense comparison.
33. HDShatter (Posts: 1021; Member since: 17 Jan 2013)
If you really care about the camera how about you just buy a DLSR and give up on the crappy sensors used in phones.
39. UrbanPhantom (Posts: 949; Member since: 30 Oct 2012)
If you really want performance, go buy an F1 racer, and give your up Honda Civic or Mini Cooper. Sorry, but I don't get your point!

Phone cameras will never be as even 1/10 as good as a high end dedicated camera.

9. Tsepz_GP (Posts: 779; Member since: 12 Apr 2012)
Very nice of Samsung to allow Nokia and HTC one little victory :) .The GS4 camera is great but Samsung clearly werent aiming to get any awards with it, after all, they use a Sony unit.
11. ama3654 (Posts: 249; Member since: 27 Nov 2012)
And it still takes much better pictures according to reviews in good light, considering that's what most people with their cameras.
18. Tsepz_GP (Posts: 779; Member since: 12 Apr 2012)
Exactly, I'm more than happy with it. If it gets beaten by two Camera focused smartphones then so what? If you are serious about your mobile photography then there's only two options, either the Nokia 808 PureView OR the Nokia Lumia928, both these have outdoor, indoor, and night shots VERY well covered thanks to their lenses, innovative sensors and Xenon flash units and they take incredible videos, both make mince meat of the Htc One and both are better than the Lumia920.

You guys should check this one on GSMArena. Someone (CNET) compared all the current top dogs on their video stabilization tech. And of course, 920 and One is the winner.
21. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7359; Member since: 14 May 2012)
Using CNET as a source for technology is like using Wikipedia, trustworthiness = 0.
23. papss (unregistered)
Agreed Smurf. They have no idea what they are talking about

The video stabilization in this video it's on par with what I have experienced with my gs4. The digital stabilization is ok, but it crops the image in order to achieve that while still not being as stable as my Lumia 920. I don't think hardware stabilization should be put against software stabilization, but if you're comparing flagship phones then it's not Nokia's our htc's fault that Samsung or Apple don't use real stabilization technology so you have no choice. Other than anything to do with camera, I like my gs4 better than my Lumia 920.

cheap corean "I think Im the best" crap ever made
30. PhoneCritic (Posts: 352; Member since: 05 Oct 2011)
There is no doubt that Nokia builts awesome camera tech. However, is that the ( no pun intended) is that the focus of a smart device? Nokia has the advantage with the camera tech. But the Os that runs its flagship devices is lacking right now. So you have a choice, which is the best thing we can have, if you want a device that is okay at communication but excellent as a photography then Nokia is it- If you want a device that excel at communication but okay as photography device then the Samsung Galaxy 4 is it.
41. UrbanPhantom (Posts: 949; Member since: 30 Oct 2012)
Nokia does offer another advantage that you failed ot mention: better audio recording abilities. That feature does not seem to have been widely discussed yet, but three HAAC microphones present inside the new Lumia 928 make it a compelling solution for audio/video purposes, as well as snapping still photos. The S4 is a great device with a large screen, plenty of external ports, and an expandable SD memory slot, but it's not the master of every technology...

THIS IS NOT OFFROAD .....KINDA LIKE BACKROAD TO A CABIN..
38. gigaraga (Posts: 494; Member since: 29 Mar 2013)
The footage shot by the S4 actually looks really stable...good job Samsung!
42. drkuthan (Posts: 22; Member since: 08 Mar 2013)
S4's video recording is better than lumia 920
There is a very good comparison of S4 vs others on the home page of phonearena
S4's total score (including all lighting scenes) passes iphone 5, htc one, lumia 920 and the xz
So if you can come up with an objective evidence ok but otherwise DON'T GO ON POSTING LIKE AN ..... 'S4 IS CRAP'
Before i owned htc one, XZ, iphone 5, note 2 an between them S4 is the real winner IMO and the best cellphone in the planet right now
As a last wor, I think some people here have real bad issues which needs urgent treatment
