Galaxy Nexus no longer available in the Play Store

It appears that Apple has been at least temporarily successful with their injunction, as the Galaxy Nexus is now listed at "Coming Soon" in the Google Play Store...

If that so, We would end up on a market like the Chinese one! Where every thing is copied. And that S*cks!
73. blazee posted on 04 Jul 2012, 12:02 0 0
Why would that suck? Holding patents so broad hurts no1 but competion and consumers. Just imagine a company holding a patent for something so broad like a motor vehicle or maybe certain drugs for example, for one there wouldn't be cheaper alternatives from generic drugs (with the same effects) driving up the prices as high as the company would like. The cars we have today would be cars of year 3000, the technology of the cars today would be still at the beginning of the discovery of it(bc there would be no need to push it as there is no competition) all with ridiculous price tags

Are you retard or smth? People license their patents if they want to. If not, its their right. Haven't you taken any History/Democracy class? Its on what Democracy is based on. You cannot/must not steal what others create! Would you like if some one takes credit for smth you did? Nope! That's right!
75. blazee posted on 04 Jul 2012, 13:19 0 0
Im not gonna lie i dont really know much about the Chinese market nor have i ever heard of a democracy class, but dont act like everything you own or ever bought isnt ,a "copy" as you call it, of some other product in some way.

cool down man it's just an honest question. that's why i'm saying in other posts to separate your anger from what it is that you want to comment, the reason why you spelled trol, expain, wat, sansung wrongly is you let your emotions get in you first! relax!
11. Scott_H posted on 04 Jul 2012, 00:35 6 1
The work around is because Apple got a preliminary injunction - they haven't won the case, but if Samsung and Google want to sell those phones until the court case is decided they need to have a work around in place.
It's basic economics, and has nothing to do with whether they are infringing in a legal sense.
42. bayusuputra posted on 04 Jul 2012, 01:58 1 0
agree, they could just limit the search bar to web search, contacts, apps and files.. 4 things.. that's not universal.. since universal encapsulates all that is within the phone..
15. quakan posted on 04 Jul 2012, 00:41 8 3
By time I wake up, this story will have at least 75 comments and 98% of them come from hardcore android fans who only bash Apple and Apple fans. The other 2% will come from Gallito and Taco who are literally the only people left on this site who show support for Apple. It's crazy to think a year ago you could see a mix of Android, Apple, RIM, Windows, and even Bada fans but the insane Android fans ran everyone away from this site (or at least from the comment sections). I rarely even comment just because the Android fans on here are sometimes just ridiculous if I show some support for Apple. I could write a comment on here like, "I hope to see some good features on iOS 6" and i'll get 1 thumbs up and 27 thumbs down plus a million replies that usually go like "I hate Apple because they don't like competition, get Android", "Get an Android so you can stop being a Sheep", "Ummmm, I hate Apple because....uhhh I forgot", etc (I could go on all day).
19. frydaexiii posted on 04 Jul 2012, 00:47 2 2
Nah, "I hope to see some good features in iOS 6" will get you thumbs, mainly because we all know that won't happen.

I think I can add your reply to the types of replies I get on here.

Even though I am a "fandroid" I have to agree with quakan. I was honestly hoping that iOS 6 would bring a new UI design for the iPhone with a higher level of customization. The reason Apple users are viewed so negatively on this site is because a lot of them make such stupid comments. It's nice to have a level-headed discussion with an iOS user, but they are so rare.
39. taco50 (banned) posted on 04 Jul 2012, 01:47 5 2
1. For every dumb comment by an Apple user there's 20 by android users.
2. Wanting Apple to allow customization and change their UI is stupid. They have a loyal customer that values the way Apple does business now. You want them to be more like android. So in that case you should buy android.
50. gallitoking posted on 04 Jul 2012, 02:24 3 2

And you rush in to show that quakan is correct and there's a bunch of rabid android fans on here.
51. mas11 posted on 04 Jul 2012, 02:25 0 0
I just like to have a level-headed discussion with iOS users. My biggest issues with Apple is their belief that one phone works for everyone. In my opinion, if Apple wants to take away market share from Google they need to create multiple iPhones. Possibly one with a physical keyboard called the iPhone Pro, to focus on messaging and email. Another with a 13 megapixel camera and a 4.6" screen called the iPhone View, to focus on capturing, editing and viewing images. My final concept iPhone is the iPhone elite with a 4.3" screen, 1.5 gHz dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM for power users. These are just some ideas off the top of my head but you get my point. I would never buy the iPhone 4S because it doesn’t have a large enough screen, lacks 4G Lte and allows little customization. Those are my reasons, but to each his own. I’m sure the iPhone is the best phone for you and I respect that, but it’s not the best phone for me. And yes there are Android, iOS and WP trolls on this site.
55. taco50 (banned) posted on 04 Jul 2012, 02:32 4 1
Apple doesn't think their phone is best for everyone. If you like their product buy it and if not don't. You want iPhone to be more like android with more options and customization. That isn't Apple strategy. They differentiate themselves by being unique and exclusive. They also have products that work really well because they simplify their product line to very few models. Apple goes after profit first and market share 2nd.
Google because they're an advertising company is going after market share first and profit 2nd. That's why they give away their software free to anyone who will take it and try to flood the market with handsets.
62. mas11 posted on 04 Jul 2012, 02:43 0 0
It's not just Android that sells more than one phone. Microsoft and RIM sell multiple phones. Also WP allows a greater level of customization. I'm not saying Apple needs a ton of phones, 3 or 4 is a good number. That way they can appeal to more users. And as far as customization goes. Apple should keep its locked down environment, they just need to create something like widgets or live tiles. No custom launchers.

well i like them both its just i like android a little bit more and apple is a nice company there just becoming irrational im not ifan or a fandroid just a human (and im not trying to troll are be mean so if i am sorry)

I am an android Fan, but not the hardcore type. but... EVEN if i hate apple, i wont tell others to get android :) ultimately, its YOUR own choice on what OS and what phone you want. :) UNBIASED ANDROID FANS FTW!

I maybe wrong (plz correct me if I am) but this whole universal search thing is kinda weird to me. Samsung and Google are making this update to only allow Google search to search the web but on the original evo I almost positive that the voice search app could search the web, texts, make calls, etc. Isn't that more or less the same thing? If so why did apples injunction for the one x/evo lte get declined? Why only the gnex?
59. Whateverman posted on 04 Jul 2012, 02:35 1 0
I don't get it either. Siri came out a year ago and Android has been doing universal search since it came out in 2008. Why was this patent even issued to Apple if it already existed? Siri uses Google for its universal searches, so if Google isn't allowed to use it, how would that effect Siri?

Talking about stealing ideas, how about launching the camera application from the lock screen sound to you apple?
What about notification bar?
Hope Google/Samsung choke you to death.

43. Rocksteady posted on 04 Jul 2012, 02:01 0 2
And that would be the smart thing to do.
Apple's actions and silly legal games will just kick the customers away.
I had some respect for apple in the past, but not any more.
