0. phoneArena posted on 16 Apr 2012, 02:33

Pictures obtained by the Land of Droid show what is claimed to be the plug-in for the Asus Transformer Prime that the manufacturer is sending out to correct the tablet's issues with its GPS functionality; as expected, the plug-in looks like the hinge from the dock...

Talk about half-baked solutions. This contraption covers the charging port meaning the GPS will drain the battery pretty quick. Useless.

If you like the solution or not, at least Asus is trying to do right by their customers. Its better than giving away a 10 cent bumper and telling people they are holding it wrong.

I don't get it. This is supposed to be the best tablet available. Are products not tested anymore before they're released?

It's cool I guess. I have GPS on my GNex so I really don't think I will use this, but since it's free I guess I will give it a shot. I really have nothing to lose. I am glad that Asus is stepping up & taking care of their customers. Some other companies should emulate this. Apple I am looking at you!

i thinking many of you are correct about this being a flooky fix approach but dont feel you're forced to use it. I too have never even cared for the GPS but i will certainly use it for better wifi range since its not only a GPS range booster. even if it does drain my battery faster, i still personally dont mind because although i use my prime all day I have yet to kill the battery in the last four months or so that ive owned it. plus the battery seems to report increasement by UK users who have already updated to 4.1 JB

my only gripe with my prime is... WHAT THE F*** IS WRONG WITH MY CAMERA? IS EVERYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM?
