Fully assembled iPhone 5 front leaks in high-res photos and video, A6 chip shown too

Now we have good quality photos of the assembled front, complete with the home key underneath the larger display. We say larger, since the pics size the front assembly up with the iPhone 4S, and the difference is pretty obvious...

I didnt realize the Note and Note 2 sized phones were available in 2009....
Didnt know the Epic 4G...with the keyboard...was available in 2009..
Didnt know the Side Kick was available in 2009...
Shall I continue? I'm not even a fan of Samsung phones...and I knew this....

You may be correct that is sad - are American consumers that stupid to get suckered into buying a iphone that looks like it did in 2010.
At least Samsung, in America, has changed it up from the Captivate to the Infuse to the Skyrocket to the SGS3.
The one thing I wish Samsung would do better on is the pixel density, but maybe that is where they can save money on by offering a decent display.

I'm not a fan of the look. However, I'm sure that the screen on that will set the bar...again! I wish one of the Android manufacturers would release a screen better than what apple will open with. From the looks of it, that screen probably goes all the way to the edge.

SLCD 2 screen is absolutely sick on the One X. About the same ppi. Very bright. Accurate colors. Check it out.

Sorry to say, but i Bet 1 million bucks if any phone manufacturer tries to make a retina display, or higher pixel density, Apple will sue their pants off, if these are real and not faked or replica units these bozos are showing....imma be real pissed i waited out to see what apple was dropping ...... i mean really, minor tweaks to iOS , prob same camera, a weird tall banana screen/phone ...... and making a new pin which means all the companies that spend millions making iphone adaptablie hardware, appliances , stereo equipment gotta make new s**t for us consumers to spend even more money on.....ITS ALL ABOUT DOLLAR BILLs ..........cause we all know apple will sue if anyone but them makes an adapter.......

wow, truly not very innovative and late to the game...HEY!!
APPLE's new slogan:
'Truly...not very innovative. Late...to the game'

The original iphone looks better than this.

Hate Apple to the core....lol...but I disagree.
The iPhone 4 look is the best iPhone design IMO. I actually like this look.

I hope Apple is just deliberately releasing these supposedly images because if this is the actual phone, then its bye bye Apple. A longer iPhone 4S? Is that the best your designing department can do? How is this revolutionary? Hit the F5 button and give us a fresh new look.

That is so true. I expected the next iPhone to look like a washing machine. That would be revolutionary.

Oh great. Yeah, or a fridge.
So it's okay for Apple to just elongate their current phone which has a two-year old design?
67. JessJess (unregistered)
Ok i'll bite.
Why not? Change for the sake of change?
It looks like a pretty good refresh. Rather than following the crowd (which would get them boo'd in here as well im sure) and simply making the screen bigger, they have changed the aspect ratio instead and gone up. To my mind this makes it better as a "phone" and keeps one handed operation. You also get increased resolution and a wider screen that (when turned sideways) is better for viewing content on (websites/video), or playing games.
Yet this isn't good enough apparently. Because its not "different" enough. Pretty different since so many people are up in arms over it.
If this is a "two year old design" then I guess the S3 is too. Because last time I checked, the S3 was a phone with a screen and a single button in the middle.... please point out something on the S3's face that makes its design more revolutionary? Something factual? Rounder corners?

The aspect ration point- I'll give you that.
"Pretty different since so many people are up in arms over it." This device hasn't been released so we'll see how many people go in to buy it. I still suspect, a large number will because well, a new iPhone! Who can resist? The change in design between 3GS and 4 was great. It was nice too. After that, Apple ceased to think different. They used the iPhone 4's design in the 4S and plan to use it in the next iPhone too? Not so creative.
By refining the 2 year old design I didn't mean that Apple place the home-screen button ABOVE the screen or something like that. The difference in the design between SGS2 and SGS3 is very noticeable. Not so much between iPhone 4 and 4S. There lies my complain. Apple using the same body, just making it longer.

Yeah I agree. I have an S3 can you say longer an WIDER with an almost FIVE inch screen....say bye-bye Apple, hello Sammy ;)
59. teerex42 (Posts: 93; Member since: 14 Jun 2012)
wow that is hideous. If they were going to go with a tiny 4 inch screen, they should have at least made it wider and longer not skinnier and longer!!! epic fail, but that's ok. I LOVE my Samsung Galaxy S3, blows the Apple iphone out of the water :D
I believe the decline of the Apple iphone is underway!!!

You should get it printed on a t-shirt so other people can pick you out from the crowd.

Oh puuuuleeeeeeze that's another mockup. Lawsuit happy apple would b all over this demanding it b returned.
69. JessJess (unregistered)
I'm sad that the home button still isn't capacitive. Seems such a shame to break the screen with a button. They could just mark its location and have it light up when you touch it - much like the power buttons on Macs of old. Make it happen Apple! :(
75. BReND0 (Posts: 49; Member since: 07 Dec 2010)
it would be cool to have a LED ring aorund an LED apple symbol .....that doubles as a notification LED for texts, emails and calls ....that is capacitive......BY THE WAY APPLE< THATS MY IDEA IMMA PATENT IT ........... make me some money for once
71. Dani.Yako (Posts: 1; Member since: 30 Aug 2012)
OMG IF THIS IS THE LAST THING STEVE JOBS WORKED ON IT IS THE WORST THING HE DID.............
76. BReND0 (Posts: 49; Member since: 07 Dec 2010)
This fake Mock up is real lame.........but i have a feeling its close to the real thing......honestly i can see them rolling with , "If it aint broke, why fix it" with the design.....i cant believe i waited so long to see if maybe the fifth gen iphone was maybe the one i might try out.........im not a hater just never really saw the hype....i love that theres millions of products and apps for the iphone, and a great camera.....but im was an avid Blackerry user for four years, traded up my Bold 9700 to a Galaxy S Vibrant, to a samsung Infuse now i have a Nokia Lumia 900 and a HTC vivid, bith these phones rock, fast, full of features beautiful displays great cameras , awesome audio, do alot and the windows intergration of media, social networking apps and contacts and calendars is AMAZING..........i really feel this next iphone has to be a game changer to purchase if not ill be getting a windows phone 8 and trading my htc vivid and lumia 900 for a iphone 4s or the htc one x plus

It's to long. It reminds me of a touch screen remote. I'm sure that won't stop it from being even more grossly overrated then is predecessor.
80. Jonathan41 (Posts: 523; Member since: 22 Mar 2012)
I was reading the comment and it seem that a lot of people are forgetting Samsung is not the only Android phone manufacture. Let us not forget that Team Android needs to stay team ANDROID and not just Team "Sammy". Otherwise, the SG3 will not just simply replace the iPhone at the top spot in sale but, it will also be just as overrated when compared to other capable Android Smartphones.
