Free traffic updates on your phone courtesy of Navteq
Do you own a smart phone and capable of accessing the web right from your handset? You're in luck because Navteq is offering a new version of its traffic monitoring system that can be accessed on any mobile device connected to the internet.  It's a nice thought from them; especially if you don't own a dedicated GPS device or software on your phone. The roads are color coded to give you a birds eye view of what road conditions might be like around your parts. Everything is done through the web browser on your mobile phone, so expect to click multiple links in order to get your specified location. Granted that it's a free service, it still needs some catching up to do in terms of the interface and depth of other programs like Google Maps provide.

Nice idea, but doesn't work in New England unless you're near a major market. Thanks, but I don't want to move to Boston.
