No, this is what happens when you have an Android and don't buy apps through the ANDROID PLAY STORE.

Think of it this way:

You go to the doctor. He tells you that you have high blood pressure and need to take medication X.

You go to CVS. Medication X costs $100. You don't want to pay $100.

You walk to the closest street corner and ask a man with three teeth if he has medication X. He does! It's $1!

You die.

The end.

Yes it is android fault, they should not allow third party app stores in the first place. That's why apple has so many restrictions so things like this cant happen. I call that protecting your product

Why they should not allow third party app stores? Not all third party app stores are full of scam and or malware so there is no reason to not allow them. User also have to take part of responsibility!

They dont need to allow third party store, it's their product. If they wanted to make money from their apps, why won't they just submit it to google or whoever handles their app store. I bet the majority of android users dont buy apps froms third party stores, and I they probably don't know any of them exist.

So if you say that majority of Android users even don't know about the third party app stores then there is no reason to not allow thous app stores because no one knows about them and it is not a big thing at all, right ?

But you still say that it is Androids fault, so how Android should prevent this minority of Androids users from downloading apps from third party app stores? How and in which way in your opinion Android should prevent that ?

I'll try. I think that they should've not made their phone so much like a pc. You can download anything to your phone from the mobile web browser to your phone. Just like a pc you can end up downloading something that could damage your device. Security wise, I think apple made a good decision by not making that possible on ios.

Failed model? They are buying from third party app stores.

There is little Android can do to prevent that other than specifically warning you when you tell the phone to allow you to install third party apps that it MAY HARM YOUR PHONE.

Go back to my analogy for a moment:

The "Apple" doctor FORCES the medication down your throat in his office to make sure you don't buy from the dude on the corner. Sure, we know you aren't buying meds from the dude on the corner with three teeth, but do you really want your doctor FORCING medication down your throat?

The "Android" doctor says "Look man, this medication in my hand is not going to have any side effects. You are welcome to take it, or you can buy from the dude on the corner with three teeth. He may have a better price but i'm giving you FAIR WARNING his medication may kill you."

I'll take fair warning over force any day of the week.
